The Sigma Art 24-70 f2.8 was my first FF lens and was great for many things. I bought a few other lenses for specific needs, most notably a Sigma 24mm f1.4 for indoor/lower light photos.

Sigma makes great lenses for sure, my first lens for any of my Sony's was also a Sigma.

@@andrewsaraceni I bought the 16-35 GM and it’s been great for nature walks and the occasional portrait outside, and some real estate photos. The Tamron 70-180 f2.8 fits in my sling bag with my other f2.8 zooms. I can’t believe they made this lens so compact!
@andrewsaraceni Жыл бұрын
@@Reviews4fun1 Both great choices - the 16-35 GM is in my kit as well, and Tamron's trio of zooms (17-28, 28-75, 70-180) are really all an amazing deal.

Would you say it's worth getting the gm ii instead of the original? We're shooting 3 videos this year, and planning some travel vlogs. Trying to decide between the two options and its its worth spending 2x the price for the newer model.
@andrewsaraceni Жыл бұрын
Depends on if you think the GM II features (smaller, lighter, aperture ring, smooth vs. tight zoom, slight AF improvements) are important enough to you, and can afford it. Image quality wise wise they're both great; I've been really happy with the GM II since I got it.

I have an FX6 and put this lens on it. It's not a power zoom, unlike all my older lenses. I don'r know why that was left out
@andrewsaraceni6 ай бұрын
Most of Sony (and other brands') zooms for mirrorless cameras are mechanical; power zooms are a lot less common. Supposedly Sony's working on some new PZ lenses for E-mount though.

what lens would you recommend for shooting food videography? i mainly shoot cafe and restaurants and their food. i just brought the fx3
@andrewsaraceni2 ай бұрын
Honestly I've used the 24-70mm GM (I and II) probably more than anything for that. A good telephoto is nice for some shots with bokeh and background compression, but you can get that at the 70mm end, or more with APS-C crop mode.

Against the new Sigma 24-70ii which one would be the better buy for photography?
@andrewsaraceni2 ай бұрын
Also a great choice if you want something smaller/lighter but cheaper than the GM II. But I'd probably still go with the Sony GM I for IQ, AF performance, breathing compensation, etc.

Hello. In your opinion do you think the Sony 24-70 Mark 1 lens is still usable compared to the Sigma 24-70 Art lens?. Is the Sony 24-70 Mark 1 still worth it in 2024? Thank you.
@andrewsaraceni3 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely, I would still put the GM I above the Sigma in a lot of ways, but the Sigma's a great choice as well.

Both great options, but I still like the GM I since you get breathing compensation, and for the overall IQ.
