The Only Moving Average Trading Strategy You'll Ever Need

Rayner, I've been teaching myself to trade for the last 3 months. Your videos have been the most insightful and the strategy you share in this video is the strategy I have decided best fits my trading style- as a learning scalper-- Trading via Moving Average (SMP). The only modifications I use are: (1) 20, 50 and 200 Moving Averages. I find by seeing all three on screen I can see at a glance which MA price is respecting and thus find areas of value on one MA where I may not on another. It may appear for example that there are no opportunities due to none presenting on the 50, but several areas of value might be found at the 20. (2) I keep the 200 MA to aide in identifying trend, 20/50 above/below 200 to confirm up/down trend. (3) Candles closing in between the 20-50 are also good entry points (4) Once I've entered my position, I switch to Heikin Ashi candles to monitor my trade; on the first reversal candle I exit, else I'll exit at the previous swing high. hey Rayner , what if price starts trending bullish in lower time frames (5-15) and respect MA but bearish in higher time frames and still need to cross the downtrend MA barriers on head and vice versa. which one to follow ???

If the higher time frame is bearish, that is the longer term trend, and if you're day trading at 4h or higher, you should be relying on that for reference, then patiently wait for signs on the lower time frame (1h for 4h reference, 4h for daily reference) to match that trend, for the highest success rate. Now, you can trade against the trend using lower time frame MA ONLY, but you just lower your success rate that way, and if you're a beginner, I recommend against it until you understand each thesis WHY you're doing it that way
