I have this camera at work. I am a Firefighter and have carried this camera in my gear every shift for around 15 years. Great camera, does everything I need. Battery lasts forever, has seen every weather condition, and the camera is so simple to use.

I really enjoyed this video!! With a lot of KZbin videos using old point and shoot digital cameras has made me to bring off one of mine to use it again. I have a Canon SD1100 and SD1200 that I purchased new in the early 2000's when they first came out and they have been sitting on my shelf for several years. Great photos, love it! By the way, how did you manage to get a focused results like that? i have ixus 160 yet I often get blurry/softy results eventhough I've tried to hold my hands tight and steady. Do you have any tips for that?

Thank you very much. I took the photos in full automatic mode. I think that means the ISO is higher, but the exposure time should generally be high enough that the pictures are not blurry.

Bonjour et merci beaucoup. J'utilise une ancienne carte SD Panasonic avec 1 Go de mémoire, Class2. Il fonctionne très bien. Je ne sais pas quelle peut être la capacité, donc je suis du bon côté avec 1 Go. J'espère que Google a bien traduit cela.

@@huismus111 The price has increased considerably in the meantime. If you're lucky, you can get one for $50/Euro on eBay or at flea markets. I wouldn't pay any more for it. It doesn't necessarily have to be the same model. The successors are just as good, they just have a few more megapixels.

Does the raw photos actually turnout to be so great or do you edit them little bit afterwards (contrast, light, exposure etc) ? I mean are the photos shown in the video raw photos or little bit edited? Just curious, because i have never filmed or taken a picture with an old digital camera. But now definitely inspired after this video!!!

There are some old digicams that take good pictures internally. Few can do raw. Most just jpeg. The ones in the video are all edited jpeg images. For some, the exposure was just adjusted slightly, and for some the colors were made a little stronger. There are also old Canon digicams where you can create your own color recipes internally. It definitely works with the old things.

The Ixus 85 IS is marginally better than the Ixus 80 IS. Has 2MP more and the sensor is slightly larger.

The Canon G7X II/III is better. But also 20 times more expensive. If you just need something to post pictures on social media, something small like the Ixus 80 will do

No, in jpeg. The camera can only use raw software with alternative software, but I've never tested it.

Yes with Lightroom. The dynamic range is of course not as good as RAW, but a little is always possible. I adjust the highlights and shadows a bit. And play around with the gradation curve.@@burnedmemory

The photos have been edited a little with Lightroom. JPEGs are not that editable, but a little is possible.
