Awesome video! As a 4 year alpha clone solo pvp pilot in Minmatar Amarr space, these are all nice setups. My personal signature ship is the Merlin. Neutron Blasters, AB dual web with a MASB (no scram!), Damage Control, SAAR, and a Magnetic Field Stabilizer. It rocks 228 dps with a collision rig and good alpha skills, tanks about everything you can throw at it, and has comparable control to a Hookbill. In fact, this ship with Alpha pilot goes more than even against the Hookbill, winning the slight majority of fights. It costs 12 mil but a cheaper slight downgrade or 1 mil powergrid implant takes it down to 6. Please don't fly this, because I enjoy winning fights and I know that's not going to happen with you in this :P Great video, would love to practice duel you sometime to give you the summary of my full 130+ fit catalog for solo T1! -Flara Pediati

Ever tried an -auxiliary- ancillary shield booster on a merlin? It's glorious, it won countless duels until I met a dude in a heron.

Adding an Agency Hardshell Dose I and a Standard Blue Pill if you're in a tough fight or active area makes this ship tank like a boss. Having the SAAR lets you armor tank and even bait tank until you need to rep shield to prevent hull bleed.

Flew this with a 2 months old alt character, lost 2 duels against an Executioner and Punisher (damn you lasers), although the ECM heron was a pain in the butt his cap eventually ran out. With the neutron blasters you'll get 270 DPS, switch to ion blasters for 250 DPS tanky tackle, and hell it even works in PVE (yugh). @@GamesDoneCasual Dual web Beam Torm? You monster XD I mainly fly cruisers now (still alpha) because the frigate meta is just so ironed out. I tend to only take out really stupid idea frigates nowadays. Dual Prop TD Slasher, triple tank Condor, armor buffer Kestrel, the cap stable MSB Breacher, or the aforementioned Dual Rep Merlin. Rifter is amazing in a lot of scenarios. You can have a 400 plate with small anci, dual armor rep with a long point, high damage with a 200 plate, or the stupid 400 dps Polarized version that's going around. I wrote a whole guide on the Torm for solo pvp that's like 5 pages long.

As a minmatar I can confirm the Breacher is perfect :P But the dual MASB fit isn't great. It can tank a lot on paper but in reality it would tank more with web and range control and the webs also increase rocket application. I think the meta fits for the breacher are dualtank(MASB+AAR), dualweb (maybe 1 TD), MASB kite and they are all fun to fly :)

Man no one gives the tormentor the love it deserves, also dual rep fit breacher, med ancil shield and small ancil armor is my fav imo, gives you enough time to drop enemy but you have to get ontop of them as youll be running rockets to make up for the one less low damage amp

70 mil for a fully fit garmur with quafe zero is actually pretty decent, tbh (also the breacher is unironically an excellent choice to teach a person the playstyle that works well with a garmur) Regardless, terrible frigate to give to a new player (unlike the orthrus which is a bit of a bullshit ship) Really hope no one is pushing the idea that folks should fly the garmur as a young pilot, it ironically gets alot of fights in many situations because its basically always worth attempting to trade most t1 and navy faction frigs into it and its a noob (not newb) trap. I.e there are alot of bad garmur pilots out there, just don't if you are not a very experienced kiter, Meanwhile if you have the money and ok SP for it, the orthrus is rarely a bad decision, hits out to 60-70km with 600 dps, very fast, and unlike the garmur, if its caught by a t1 brawling cruiser, it will probably win even at point blank range because, fuck balance am I right? Garmur? Will absolutely die in that situation, but the orthrus? I have personally lost brawling cruisers to Othrus's ive caught, and blasted at point bloody blank range, utterly bullshit.

Absolutely not. You can get a lot of solo frigate pvp in other areas of lowsec, and even null sec. Faction warfare is definitely the most likely place to find it though!

if you want a tiny bit more investment: Comet. just one word: comet... price for a decent fit: a bit over 20mil its unblanced af. a good fit (prob 30mil) with max skills: 10k ehp (plus repair!) 1.5km/s on an ab. 400dps heated (max skills plus drugs). you can kill Exeq Navys with it (need to know some piloting tricks sometimes tho)... its stupid. i dont fly it bc its unfair... even with shitty skills the hull buffer is just too fucking much... if you want to be funny: Heron yes the regular heron. you can fit 2 medium ancills and have fun. people wont expect it lol (dont fight anything too big (bigger then t1 frig). but i did get a crusader in it once so eh... idk)
