The reason why there is a guitar solo 1:06, is because this vocal isolation was achieved by using an isolation method known as "phase inversion", where you take an instrumental and instrumental + vocals, align them precisely and then invert the instrumental. This causes the two sounds to draw a contrast to eachother when played, subtracting any bits that are identical to the inverted track. The process is not perfect (usually due to audio compression), and you may hear slight percussion or even the instrumental being extremely quiet throughout the entire track. the twist here, is that in some of the themes, there are extra instruments in the solo pieces for the vocal track but not in the instrumental. Red Sun also has this too with its own guitar solo.

You can do the frequencies and stereo tracks trick, but that tends to result in a very messy and warped output. This was made by taking the regular and instrumental versions of the tracks (in FLAC, straight from the OST disc - any lossy compression like MP3 will mess this up) and inverting one, keeping only the difference. Basically, by subtracting the instrumental track from the track with vocals, giving you only what's different. In this case, that was both the vocals, and the guitar solo (which is not on the instrumental track).*
