Absolutely brilliant on Mr. Palermo's part to be vague about who the titular "you" is. Too many songs of this nature would insist on making it about a former lover, but this song with these lyrics is going to hit a lot more people in similar but different ways. And this is beautifully amplified by the little montage of a broad spectrum of different people, all of whom are clearly missing SOMEONE different from who someone ELSE is missing. Who was *_I_* missing this Christmas? My father. 😢 It was a long battle with cancer, but at least you're free now, Dad. Rest well.
