I love his plain spoken astronomy talks but I have used his videos to help me fall asleep. But then, I've been using great documentaries that feature a good narration for years to learn. Sure, If I'm tired I'll doze off but in the mean time my mind is drawn to something educational rather than to needlessly spiral around my daily worries.

I hope Mr. Butler knows that we all think his videos are fascinating and super well presented, and the sleepiness bit just comes from how darn soothing his presentation is. I’d hate to think he was left to believe folks think he’s boring. I love that he’s taken so much time to just put all this information together for free - what a great gift to society from a super smart guy and a very talented educator.

I just spent the entirety of this video with the speaker of my phone just over the top pole of my baritone guitar's neck pickup, soaked in reverb and playing a weird and ominous, repeating pattern with my fretting hand.
