Can you please give an example of what that connecting with God felt like for you? In what way and how did it affect your day?

I can say it's been different for every man I've ever worked with. For some it's been a message that comes through other trusted people (usually several times over a few days). For others it's a deep sense of awareness of God's presence in their own soul, like when you sense someone sitting next to you but you can't see them, only not in a creepy way). For others it's a memory that comes to mind out of nowhere, or a line from a movie or book, or a line from a holy text, that really speaks to the need of the moment. For me, I often experience God first through nature & the elements -- wind, sun, soil, water, even my own breath - then usually a quiet voice deep inside my awareness that isn't me, and always comes with a strong sense of peace, love, and wisdom. There are a number of helpful books on the subject, if you're interested. One I can recommend is Hearing God by Dallas Willard (but there are many others, too). Hope this helps!

Maybe. Of course I could be wrong. All I can say is that isn't true to my experience of Jesus. But even if you are correct, the daily practice of surrendering your day/agenda to your Highest Self is still a good idea, right?

It is a product of theology in the hands of Greek and Roman Plationists. There is no god in the Bible. You won't find meaningful purpose in Christianity.
