I thought they did. But just be aware of that- if that’s the case, should ignore my advice when I said you can possibly build your echoes with food buffs in mind. Food buffs 100% do work everywhere in overworld and in Hologram fights though!

This was a great beginners guide, as a day 1 player you covered everything for anyone that is new to the genre. I was never interested in doing TOA and had only done it to get the ape’s skin. Fast forward to SK being announced and I started taking it more seriously since doing TOA meant more pulls, yes I did use money for her, extra pulls meant I could get more wavebands and luckily I got her to waveband 2. I will try waveband 6ing her when her rerun comes out she is that good❗️

Another tip: do NOT underestimate 4 star characters. When you play them right, they will absolutely perform great. I have Aalto (who is a 4*, has really fun combat) at max level, and I can clear all endgame contents using him as a DPS. I showcase him on my channel if you doubt to build him. *I only recommend what Solace suggest you doing, but you can't go wrong with using underrated *4 characters. Play who you really enjoy the most.

I really love Havoc Rover, so now I’ll be building Danjin as her support. Currently running Rover, Calcharo and Verina. Not the most synergised of teams, but I have decent echos, Rover is a beast, and all have 5* weapons, so it’s fun. I am mostly F2P, so not pulling a lot.

The FIRST thing anyone should realize is this is NOT a regular triple A game, and should not be treated as such. Eventually you'll run out of things to do, and the game basically becomes a farming/collection sim. You'll run into all manner of time-gating from soft, like in the case of waveplates, and podcast point max, to events outright being locked until the next day(s) Don't be too frustrated. Just enjoy what you can, while you can. I wish this guide was done before I started playing. I pretty much did everything wrong that you could possibly do wrong, lol. My account was so bad I ended up making a new one. My new account is in a MUCH better position than the old one was. One thing to mention is do NOT sleep on the in-game shops. You can get a pretty huge amount of resources for pulling, AND development resources in the points shops, Items shop, and even in places like Sheifeng Pharmacy, and the Pioneer Association gift shop. I mention this because the gift shop even sells lustrous tides that you can use in times of desperation when you're super close to hard pity. All in all this is an outstanding guide video. Yes, there are quite a few guides, but this one doesn't gloss over the necessary info to insure the Gacha system is more easily understandable. I started playing WuWa around 3, or so days after Jiyan's banner was done, and had no idea what the hell I was doing. I was blowing both types of tides, and astrites like they were candy. Not to mention I did exactly the opposite of saving resources. I pretty much bricked my account because I only had 1 limited 5-star character, and 1 standard 5-star weapon. I foolishly 100%'d most of the map, and regions ASAP to get to UL 45 to get that weapon, Chose the Emerald thinking both Rover, and Cal could use it, and wasted a metric ton of pulls trying to get Verina because I pulled Cal with the voucher. Like I said, I made every mistake you could possibly make, lol. Had my account been an animal, a mercy killing would be in order 🤣

Semi beginner here, I finished the story but still learning and I literally learned it now that 5 Star echoes all have different stats and sub-stats. For example, Fallacy of No Return is said to be the best main echo for Shorekeeper. So after reaching data bank level 15 (I'm currently 17), I farmed for a fallacy and maxed it out thinking I'm done. Now after watching your vid, I quickly went to see a shorekeeper echo guide, only to find that I was supposed get the main echo with Crit damage boost and here me maxed out a useless ATK stat. Bruhhhh

@@omeomahardad4858 it’s okay, you can still recover from that. Your data bank isn’t maxed out yet which tells me you’re still quite early on. You can put the attack stat echo onto Verina, she scales on attack, so it’s not necessarily useless. And if the echoes you are leveling are not gold rarity it doesn’t matter anyway. Building echoes in this game is a marathon that you run over time, so don’t sweat it too much.

A few things I'd like to add: Anything that says "Increased vibration strength damage" is referring to the stagger bar. This applies e.g. to Yuanwu who does more damage to the stagger bar. For the sample team you highlighted I would instead suggest Encore, Sanhua, Verena. Here is why: Mortefi buffs heavy attack damage, Sanhua buffs basic attack damage. Encores ult replaces her basic attacks with more powerful attacks. When she is the main dps you want to do her damage while she is in her ult state. Almost all the damage she does in that state counts as basic attack damage. The important thing here is that you want the basic attack buff but you want to level her ult first and don't actually care about her basic attack talent at all. This might be confusing for new players so here is the quick cheat sheet: Encore Fire set (Molten Rift) 4-Cost: Crit Rate/Crit DMG main stat 3-Cost: 2x Fusion damage (if you have them) or attack % 1-Cost: 2x attack % Substats: don't worry if you are just starting. For later: crit rate/dmg > attack% > flat attack (yes flat attack is better than the dmg% like basic attack%) > basic attack% Talent: ult (resonance liberation) > forte circuit > resonance skill > intro skill > basic attack Sanhua White set (Moonlit Clouds) 4-Cost: same as Encore 3-Cost: 2x Glacio dmg (if you have them) or attack% 1-Cost: same as Encore Substats: less important than for your main dps. If you want to start optimizing: crit stuff, attack stuff Talent: forte circuit > ult > skill > intro > basic attack Note: you get Sanhua from a beginner login event guaranteed so you can always guarantee this team. It is not the best team in the game but it is one of the really strong ones even in late game and all the characters can also be used in other teams so you are not wasting any resources investing into these characters. Thanks so much for this. On your advice I have now cleaned out the Illusive Realms shop. I found that as long as I had Verina and the Bell Born Echo I could do all the stages easily. Upgrade the echo, spam and you basically don’t take damage. 😂 I don’t claim the rewards, saving my Waveplates, but you still get the currency and it’s a brilliant way to get resources. Plus now I don’t die, it’s really good fun.

Pro tip: Tier lists don't matter in this game. Even starter characters like Rover and Chixia can do enough damage to clear endgame content. Sure you may not be able to clear Tower of Adversity while underleveled like with some of the more op characters, but once you reach Union Level 60 (which takes roughly 2 months) the dps check becomes trivial and you can use just about any combination of characters, even if they have no synergy at all, and still be able to clear each floor with 3 crests. And it's not like you lose that many rewards for not getting a perfect clear either, since the last 6 crests from the hazard tower only give 100 astrite in total. I also wouldn't recommend pulling for limited 5 star sub-dps characters like Yinlin and Zhezhi if you want to save astrite unless you really like them, since they can't carry a team on their own like a main-dps, and when compared to other 4 star sub-dps characters like Yangyang and Sanhua (which every player gets for free) they don't perform that much better (outside of their meta teams with perfect synergy). TLDR don't underestimate the power of starter characters :)

I strongly disagree on your 2nd point, Yinlin and Zhezhi absolutely can carry a team on their own with their respective damage echo set, as much as Changli having a subdps kit works as a main dps. I thought it was a known fact that supports and hybrid are always more worthwhile to pull than replaceable main dpses, but I do agree for new players pulling at least one strong limited main-dps should be prioritized before any subdps to get the account strength going.

I have a full electro team on my account, Xiangli Yao/Yinlin/Verina (standard 5 star weapon on Yao, signature on Yinlin) and I can clear preety much any stage in ToA in under a minute, which is completely overkill. If I didn't have Yinlin, I would still be able to clear the same stages even if it was like 20-30 seconds slower, it would make no difference and would I still get the same reward. And this is a team with perfect synergy, so Yinlin of course will be really cracked in this specific comp, but as a universal sub-dps Yangyang and Sanhua aren't that much worse and in some cases they're better then Yinlin, even if the main dps can't benefit from their outro skills, due to how much faster they generate concerto energy. For instance my team with Changli/Yangyang (lvl 50 btw)/Verina clears preety much just as quickly as Changli/Yinlin (lvl 90 + sig)/Verina. (Yes, I optimized the rotation of both teams to be able to use Changli's liberation on cooldown.) Yes characters like Yinlin and Zhezhi can work as a main dps, but (at least in the videos I looked up) they had their respective signature weapons + a lvl 90 sub-dps to help them, only to get a slower clear than a proper main dps with much lower investment paired up with an unbuilt sub-dps would be able to get. So it's definitely doable, but more expensive, which was the point I was making. In terms of the longevity of main dps characters, I highly doubt any of the older ones will ever get to a point where they physically can't do enough damage because 4 star sub-dps characters are just OP as hell lol. Let's say a limited sub-dps for Jiyan was released with 20% aero and 25% heavy attack amplify, the outro buff would only be only 7% better then Mortefi's 38% heavy attack buff, and Jiyan can already clear preety much any stage in ToA in around a minute with just mortefi + a support. Sure this limited sub-dps character's buff would be applicable to more characters but the thing is, you don't really need to pull flexible limited sub-dps characters because Yangyang and Sanhua are so cracked already, so you'll only be pulling this character specifically for Jiyan (the same way I pulled Yinlin specifically for Calcharo). If you want to increase the damage of a main dps it's much cheaper to just pull their signature weapon with no 50/50 then to pull a limited sub-dps and potentially get Lingyang'ed. And, of course, all of this goes out the window if you like the character :)

But just for arguments sake: I figured we were probably on the same page but it felt contradictory to me initially, sometimes text only can leave some nuances up to interpretation. To add to your point, even Sanhua can fill in main-dps role with proper investment (idk about Yangyang). But by relying solely on 4 stars subdps for the whole tower might be rough for new players that are still lower UL trying to get the most crests/asrites out of tower before reset (even if it's not very much). As it stands rn, Kuro has kept powercreep to a minimum so you're right that every dedicated limited main-dps still holds a lot more value then most other gacha games, but I think once a player is past the horizontal investment requirements for ToA needs, going for vertical investment becomes the next point of interest (for faster farming and such) and usually having the BiS subdps is optimal, but again that's not what new players should be focussing on.

Returned on a whim to catch the beginning of Camellya's banner (however her name is spelled) and staying til I inevitably lose my 50/50 on her (as I did with Jinshi before I stopped). Coming from playing HSR religiously since day 1, I'm surprised at how easy it was to forget to support just one team. Thank you for the much needed refresher (+the cooking tip), especially with all the QoL that's been added since WuWa's launch! In case you're wondering, Zhezhi reset the guaranteed when the free character came out, and I didn't know she needed Jinshi as much I as I did...

Great advises. I would propose a minor change for a total beginner - first you pull the 40 pulls, then you use the 5 star selector. All other pulls should be on weapon banner for your selected dps. As you reach level 30 or 40 you can get your 5 star weapon selector. also if you choose Encore her best support is Sanhua /outside of Jyan teams/.

I tend to pull for the characters that look the most badass! Verina isn't in that list, but I guess I'll let her join a team! Lol. I recently started on mobile since I don't have a gaming PC yet and I've been waiting for controller support to release. Trying to decide whether to merge my account when the PS5 version releases or make a 2nd account. On Genshin Impact i have 5 accounts. 1 on the PS5. 3 on the Steam Deck. 1 on the XSX! Cool! I’m a beginner who started on release but sort of gave up since I don’t have time to grind wuwa and hsr and genshin all while highschool is going on. If I’m being honest, I’m probably not going to remember most of this stuff- I’m still getting used to playing on the computer since my ipad doesn’t have enough storage for all three games. So I’m still getting used to movement and stuff, and I also forget how to open the menu sometimes. But it was helpful nonetheless, and the tip with getting verina and encore is super helpful, will definitely keep that in mind. I’m probably going to end up playing mostly for the character designs and pull for whoever looks the prettiest 😂😅 I did not retain anything from the main storyline, but I’m only at union level 6 so its hard to say. Maybe one day I’ll look back on the guide and think how bad I was then.

I’m just saying that if main DPS is what you’re lacking there are better characters you can save for.

few things I'd like to add: Beginner Banners and 5-stars selector: if you want a quick rundown: - Verina: healer and buffer - Jianxin: shield and ult dmg buff (not recommended, her shield gain is slower than a walking snail) - Calculator, I mean, Calcharo: thunder DPS - Encore: fire DPS - Lingyang: ice DPS Of course you're welcome to pick whoever you like, but getting them based on what you're currently lacking is also a good option. Just don't pick those DPS chars as your essential 3rd DPS for ToA out of desperate. You can clear ToA with only 2 main team, I'm one of them. I basically used my under-built DPS to clear 1st floors, then Havoc Rover on 2nd and 3rd floors with some support, and let my main team do the 4th one. Of course it took me lots of tries to get 30/30, but at least I did it. Food buffs: There's food that will buff echo or item drop rate in overworld, so get as many of them as you possibly can. Echoes: you don't have to worry about not getting 5-stars echoes, by the end, it will be guaranteed. Also: - Any DPS will go with their respective elemental dmg set - Moonlit Cloud for Sub-DPS (Yinlin, Zhezhi, Yangyang, Mortefi, etc.) - Rejuvenating Glow for Supporter (Shorekeeper, Verina, Baizhi, etc.) - Lingering Tunes set is the beginner's trap. Avoid it for now. and this is a PSA: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE 4-STARS CHARACTERS!!! This isn't Genshin Impact where only Bennett matter. EVERY SINGLE 4-STARS CHARACTERS IN THIS GAME MATTER, if you know what you're doing. Some like Yangyang, Mortefi, Sanhua, and Danjin can give a huge buff upon getting C6, so as Baizhi, who will give extra ice dmg buff if she cast her skill or ult, so even if they're mid, they're still useful in some part, so don't look down on them just because they're 4*. I've seen someone cleared one tower in ToA with only Chixia (if it has fire dmg buff). I only use Verina for ToA, and used Baizhi for the rest of the game because I'm a waifu collector, not Schale Sensei.

Jianxin makes the game VERY easy if you play her right, when it comes to surviving and beating content ...while I don't recommend her above Verina and Encore....she is at least on pair with Calculator ...and all of them are WAY better than Ice Furry boy. Honestly unless you REALLY like him.... reroll if he is the one you got.

I would only add to stay away from "tier lists", that are mostly made by people with little understanding of the game to mislead people with no understanding of the game for clicks; and to take everything from "advanced" guide makers with a grain of salt: some of them try to teach stuff they don't comprehend for themselves. the combat has a lot of depth, and the game is kinda fresh, a bunch of mechanics and interactions are likely still subject to discovery, so I would encourage new players to only learn basics and then experiment and try stuff, rather than adopt some random "theory crafter's" misconceptions

also sth that maybe not be known to everyone. there is no real "meta" like in other Gacha games. - Healer/sub dps chars are quite valuable (Verina, shopkeeper (not available rn), baizhi and youho now I guess are the only healers we have) - skill matters more then the character u use - 4 star chars are good - goal is to have 3 functioning teams for Tower of Adversary - dont rush to much its a solo game - dps chars are most likely to be replaced by another - focus on one char after another - be mindful with resources

At the start of the game id say if you are lucky enough to get the dps of your choice from your first 50 pulls, get verina from mail selector and use the rest of the pulls on weapon banner and get your dps a 5* weapon. I know you get 1 for free at UL45 but why only have 1. Overall following this approach gives you 2 5* really early on and 5* weapons are better than any 4* option rn in the game so its will be worth it. Again only do this if you got the dps of your choice or verina from your first 50 pulls

The beginner convene is in the convene menu as soon as you get far enough into the game. You’ll get to a part where you go into the lab with Baizhi and Mortefi and it unlocks then. The second selection is a banner that opens up after you have completed the beginner banner. That will also be in the convene menu but it won’t show up until you’ve done the beginner convene like I mentioned

@@pokeygem6783 there is an item called a Malleable echo that you earn from events and illusive realm. For those echos you can choose the main stat of a 3 cost echo. There’s nothing besides that yet.

I thought that they did work because one time I couldn’t clear the final stage of ToA with 3 stars because of time and not enough DPS. I used a food buff and then my damage seemed to go up and I cleared it. But it doesn’t show the buffs above the HP bar. So idk.

I created a secondary account because i already cleared the map and content in my main, and I got Verina in the 50 pulls banner, also I got Mortefi S2, Sanhua S3, YangYang S2, Yuanwu S2, Youhu S2 and lastly i got Jiyan in 48 pulls, 🤩 all this by playing couple hours leveling up to UL 16, also there are many active events right now once you are UL 15. I still have my free 5s ticket, do you recommend me Calcharo or Encore? I never played them in my main account since I got Xiangli Yao and i have all others 5s with their signature, except Jiyan. I recommend leveling Data Bank LVL 20 before upgrading echoes, i did this in my main account.

But doing any of the more challenging content you have to use your intros/outros and rotations for the most part. Unless you are attempting to solo stuff for fun/extra challenge.

@@aceondrills8151 that’s tough to say. It may take a little bit to get to 80 pulls. It depends on how invested you feel in this account but level 40 is not very far. Rover is a very good DPS. And there is no guarantee that when you start a new account you’ll get what you want from the first standard banner. Good thing about that is it only takes a couple hours to get that first 5 star though. Idk man. I wish I had a definitive answer for you lol

I’ve seen a vid on havoc rover as dps and I’ll try that one. Hopefully it work better than a half baked 5 star on zero copies. I play Rover, Melfti Pistol guy and Verina. If I get encore do I swap rover or pistol redhead. Or is there any other from the standard selection that fit better in here than encore

@@sagansagan5395 On my S20 it runs pretty good ( lowest settings tho)... it does heat up a bit, but then again ,the s20 heats up somewhat easily....but there is no lag or anything like that.... just make sure to adjust it, since the game's default is higher than that. On my other phone (S23 Ultra) it runs well even in medium settings.
