they are few judges there and I have a friend who is also a Int’l Latin judge here. it is said that they look for flaws - the fastest way - the most basic stuffs - how they execute each movements. besides checking each couple choreos etc will take more time. with such a limited duration of each song - below 2 minutes - they have to choose which ones go to the next round. after the round is higher - let’s quarter final or above - they will start to see the more specific things from all couples competing. some couple might dance in front of the judge - or do some crowd pumping so ppl will cheer them up - that’s also a way to show their confidence and showmanships. this is also a way for the couple to gain judge’s scores/ recognitions. in a simple words: it wont make you pass a round even when you have the world champions’ routine - which might be so complex and extravagant but you execute/ perform it poorly ʜᴇ ₕₑ ʰᵉ ᕼE😁
