Now we need someone to take this but replace the RPi with an NVIDIA Jetson to create a microscope that can take a slide, and use AI to scan the slide.

So cool! I read about a 3D printer microscope in Nature and then came across this after a search online. Currently making it using my Prusa Mini 3D printer! The biggest blocker is sourcing the parts for the Sangaboard to control the motors and getting the condenser lens. Mainly due to my location in Australia and having to rely on expensive shipping.

How ist the necessary tube length of 160-180mm handled?

We use a 'tube length correction lens' between the objective and the sensor, so that the image from the objective is focussed onto the sensor at a shorter distance.

Thank you! The currently supported ones are all inverted, but we are testing out an upright version, which you can find out more about on the forum: openflexure.discourse.group/t/upright-microscope-prototype/587/19

I would really like to see this concept applied by a group of young engineers to build an open flexure 6DOF Stuart platform. I tried to design one way back in 2013 but never finished because I didn't understand the kinematics of driving it. I made a video about my design here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bp-2l3-IlqqDe6c

This looks like a great project but the parts shopping list makes it very hard/annoying to gather all the components. Either sell all the parts as a kit or link to single international supplier.

its open source, they arent selling anything as far as im aware. you got a parts list, you're a grown adult, and you have aliexpress. im sure you'll figure it out.
