When you finally got the rhythm of blocking and evading you were kicking some ass, especially with the Botanist. The death system is a little wonky, but you get to do your little upgrades along the way, so it works out.

You can switch the LB to RB in controls and remapping. It might help you, it helped me a lot. You are a true master of ass whopping fu. Also you can just kill the "glowing feet"/elite instead of finishing them so you don't have the super Sayian mode

Game is awesome! It’s not properly explained but there’s a spot dodge mechanic that you’ve been trying but have been inputting wrong. You have to hold the LB because you enter the blocking state when holding LB. After that, just tap the direction you want to spot dodge in on the left joystick instead of pressing them at the same time!

HOLD LB (block) and then TAP DOWN to duck dodge (while blocking). Tapping up will jump in place to avoid sweeps.
