great reaction and thoughts! i wont spoil anything but your questions will be answered! i cant wait till you get to the white haired guy! and unravel really is one of the best anime openings ever :D As a previous comment said on your last vid, if you finish this season and still find you really love the series you should definitely pick up the manga! the second season splits off from the manga and then season 3 pretends the second season never happened...and thats not even mentioning all the cuts....so it will be very difficult to understand whats happening unless you have read the source material unfortunately... the first season also cuts some vital info that comes into play later, but you can still enjoy it without it~ but season 3 and 4 cram 179 chapters into 24 eps....so the quality is not great.... :/ some potential ideas you could do is to ; watch the first season then just read the manga , watch and read the manga side by side, or just watch the anime ( and probably get confused) then read the manga I really do hate that i have to make this negative comment about the anime, most anime adaptions are very good and even surpass the source material, but this manga really does deserve so much appreciation ( the anime is like a bad wiki summary of the entire series) either way, its completely your choice! and i look forward to whatever you decide to do~

Oh boy, I don't like what they did to this series. Thank you so much for this breakdown and I just read the comment you mentioned from the last vid and I'm starting to lean towards reading the manga after S1. I don't want to get confused and not give the series the appreciation it deserves. I can't believe they would cram 179 chapters into 24 episodes?! That is INSANE! I agree, I assumed the series would be like other good anime adaptations but now I know better. Thanks again! 💕

@@TealColoredIce Yay! im glad i could help out! i hope it didnt come across as "this series is bad" because its easily one of my favourite stories as well as characters~ just unfortunately alot of people who only watch the anime think its "overhyped" or "edgy" but its so much more then that, so im really glad you also want to check out the manga! :D yeah its really crazy what they did for the show considering its the same studio that did naruto and boruto which is mostly filler.....its also the same for the first and second season, they try to fit 143 chapters into 24 eps again...even tho the second season ignores alot of the canon information anyway... :/ and the characters are the best part of tg...so not alot of screen time for development..... anyway im glad you read my comment! look forward to the next vids :D

@@policeoffical973 I agree, Tokyo Ghoul and ;RE are my favorite manga but the anime really didn't do justice to the story. It's sad to say because S1 had lots of potential, the soundtracks are absolutely amazing and some fighting scenes are great to see animated. Story-wise though the manga prevails. The drawings are absolutely gorgeous especially in ;RE so it's really worth it to pick up the manga.

@@TealColoredIceno problem :) When I first watched it, I also started with the censored version without knowing it. What tipped me off was the weird over the top coloring when saw Kaneki obliterate Nishiki. In the uncensored version the scene has normal colours for these kinds of scenes with much blood and such. But you are right, it is probably a good idea for YT. You could give it a shot if you feel like rewatching the season one day ;)

Oh, and like another comment mentioned. It is generally a very good idea to switch to the manga after the first season. Because everything after that is just baffling as to what they did to the series. You can, if you want, watch the first ep of season one. There will be a big decision that is made in that ep and the manga and the anime both decide for very different ways. The anime decision will make you question what the character has smoked to come to his conclusion for the decision. When you then re read that whole episode in the manga and see the “original” decision you will probably come to the conclusion that the anime’s decision makes zero sense for the character that decides this decision. At least that was when I switched to the manga, because I thought season 2 can’t be that bad. Well I was wrong in that aspect. But that way you can see the benefit of switching to the manga. It’s a shame really, because the voice acting is just so good in this show, but hey. That way you can see the amazing art style of the manga ^^ Sorry btw if my English was all over the place in this comment. It is not my native language and somehow my brain really didn’t want to comply with me here 😅
