The American revolutionary war did not bankrupt Britain. It was an expensive war as it contributed to Britain already large national debt, but the country was not bankrupt.

The king Philips war as I recall is what made Britian go deep into debt and this made the taxes skyrocket, in the homeland and the colonies.

Yeah, Britain only got trouble with finance due to their addiction to tea which they could only get from China. They stole China's tea growing secrets to grow tea in India after the Opium War too.

What was the Spanish conquest of the Philippine islands? Chopped liver? Weekend at Bernies?
@GodlessScummer6 ай бұрын
Excellent documentary. Very well done. Just one minor little thing. The British title "Viscount" is pronounced "Vy Count". The s is silent.

44:33. General Yang Fangs plan to defend Canton was to gather all the woman night pots in every ten household, put them on the river, and have them drive back the British. (I have no idea of the thought behind this plan. Probably something to do with the low status women had in their Confucian society) Before the battle, he spent his days buying up European items like clocks, while at night buying the services of young boys.

Hi, in the future will you also make a video on the Mongolian revolutions of 1911 and 1921 and on the Chinese occupation of Mongolia?
@ThePacificWarChannel6 ай бұрын
ironic, I am currently writing about the mongolian revolution for the age of Conquest: fall and rise of China Podcast. Could do a video also!

@@ThePacificWarChannel When you make the video on Mongolia will you talk about Baron Roman von Ungern-Sternberg and his role during the Mongolian revolution of 1921 and the Soviet intervention in Mongolia in 1921?
@ThePacificWarChannel6 ай бұрын
Not sure exactly when it comes out, but KNG's Age of Conquest fall and rise of china podcast will feature an episode nearly all about Roman von Ungern-Sternberg (I wrote it over the past two days) If I make a video, for sure I would talk about this wacky guy haha. @@blackvolture3819
