I don't know about this reel, but I have the white origin C and it's pretty nice reel for the price. Took me some time to adjust the brakes which is set on 4 for most things I throw. But the distance I get is insane. The only complaint I have is the white reel is dirty. It's impossible to keep clean and I don't even bother. But it performs amzingky

I had a question I have a defy black rod and it works great in saltwater and I’m looking into this reel and I’m wondering can it be taken into saltwater as well

If you're looking into an Origin reel for Saltwater, look into the Origin TX. It is the way to go with saltwater protection in the Origin series.
