So i have a theory that the optimal way to learn a language is to match a word with an image or concept of a thing. I think most people struggle to learn a second language because they try to learn it through translation from their first language, instead of learning it the same way they learned their first language. In essence, i believe that the key to being fluent in a language is the ability to think in that language, rather than trying to think in a different language and needing to recode what you want to say. So, all of that to say that i think these videos will have a significant likelihood of helping people learn and retain Kanji, and Japanese as a whole. I'm certain it will help me. Seriously appreciating your content!

Not exactly. Because Kanji was borrowed from the Chinese language, they simply copied the knowledge that such an animal did exist in mainland Asia at that time. Even amongst the Chinese mainland by the Jin Dynasty, elephants were usually only seen in Southeastern and South Asia and were a rare occurrence in most parts of China. That's why 象 also has a meaning of "to appear as, to imagine as, to resemble", because many Chinese and Japanese people could only describe elephants based on either found bones/fossils or literary depictions, not personal sightings.
