Vedic astrology is totally based on maths and science but the knowledge vanished after continuous invasions and was shown in bad light as superstition. Now when these people discover that how indians knew about planets prepared ephimeris and moon travels all 27 constellation etc then they are amazed. Every Indian should try to learn astrology

sacrifice: what many parents do for their children, parents on a small income, who wish their children to ''get on in life'', to do better than they have done. Such parents ''go without'' or sacrifice their own wishes and wants, so as to give as much as possible towards a child's education, for example (in countries where education is an expensive privilege or where schools only exist far from home). My dad sacrificed all his free time to pay for my mothers hospital bills over the three years she was ill and away from us. His sacrifice was to work sixteen hours a day to pay for those bills, effectively giving up any time off or holidays and even very much time with me, as a little girl. I think of him more and more as i grow older, and how much of his energy he put into trying to keep our little family together. Vale Richard...

Thank you, very detailed explanation. What inspired you to get into this subject? Very technical and is it true that Astrology originally came from Greek? You pointed it out in this video at one point about Greek but wanted to know.

Hi there Sri Pagadala. What I have learnt is that there were different astrological systems in different cultures. India based it on the 27 Nakshatras while Greece and Rome took inspiration from Babylonian astrology which divided the sky into 12 segments. I believe some Indian astrologers a long time ago decided to put the 12 segments (rasis) with the 27 nakshatras for whatever reasons. It works quite naturally, as long as you base it upon the real movement of the stars - therefore making the system 'sidereal'.

Its strange that out of all the manifestations of Indo European religion that Zoroastrianism, Hindusim and Ossetianism are the only ones still going but since Zoroastrianism so thoughroughly influenced the Abrahamic religions they live on, with myths of the Greeks, Celts and Norse, etc. that occasionally have these uncanny similarities to their Eastern cousins. It really is strange to consider that all of Europe worships "Yahweh", in name anyway.

Yes, I don't know how they did it but I'm glad India (and others) have preserved their traditions. We weren't strong enough over here to resist. In fact, just recently I learnt that it was mostly British (but also German) missionaries that converted the Scandinavians.

I did begin with the "season-based" (tropical) astrology and it seemed to work fine when I used it even though it isn't based upon the real constellation positions. The main thing between the sidereal and tropical zodiacs is the 24 degrees difference. However, the Vedic/Indian version of the sidereal astrology system is rather peculiar and organized quite differently from either Greek sidereal or Greek tropical. The Indian system is based upon a particular cosmology and philosophy that connects especially with things like yoga and meditation. But as I mentioned in the video, a lot of the Greek conventions were historically merged at some point with the Indian conventions. BUT, the tropical zodiac was not merged with the sidereal. India has always had a moving constellation zodiac.

I guess horse sacrifice you are talking about has ref to "ashwa-medha-yadnya" if it is then correction is it is done by kings to become emperor , ritual horse accompanied with army was set loose and where ever horse goes army has to defeat that kingdom .. it was never about killing horse...

The author wrongly mentions that the system didn't account for planets while the entire system is around the influence of planets on events which is what is somhita book, The effect on people which is what is in hora book, and the required mathematical calculations, which precisely calculated the orbital time of each of the planets (to three points after the decimal )that is part of siddhanta book...

Nine planets are and have been foundational to this system ... To be able to locate where these nine planets are at any given time in space ....side note : seven of which are physical and two are Shadow planets because they represent the intersection points of elliptical orbits of Earth around sun and Moon around Earth ( Rahu and Ketu ) ... The 12 rashi and 27 nakshatras were used...

The author mentions about nakshatra but he could have also mentioned about one of them called moola ( Sanskrit word for root )nakshatra... Which points to the center of the universe ( and hence also sometimes referred to as Vishnu nabhi ...the naval of Lord Vishnu ...Vishnu is regarded as the nurturing force of Universe and hence his Naval points to the origin point of that force ).. Science is yet to determine whether that's in fact the center, but at the very least the system was very much aware of the planetary system, the solar system, the Galaxy, and the universe to be able to efficiently incorporate all of these into intricate mathematical formula.... Which is what panchangi is about that the author briefly mentions but does not elaborate on..

Well I thought in same way .. until I met a properly studied gentleman and he literally told me things going to happen , he forecasted next 2 hours literally and everything he told happen .. when I tried to learn it by self i found that the math and probability is very high and so far I haven't seen any wrong prediction from him.. My best advise is try it yourself by studying if you find it useful it's good , avoid putting opinion if you don't know .

@@aryanbhattarai6188 it is not easy to find decent sources where reasons are also provided why "what is told will happen" happen , but still if I find any good source for " reasoning " i will suggest surely meanwhile I refer books from mr bhojraj dwivedi "rashi fal" as study material
