I have heard Jennifer preform “And I’m telling you” so many times I have lost count. I simply can not imagine going out on the stage and ripping your heart out not to mention her vocal cords 8 shows a week. In videos with a close up the pain and agony in her face is so real. I have read on line polls comparing Holliday & Hudson. Hudson is good, she spent a couple of days in a recording studio but HOLIDAY LIVE 8 TIMES A WEEK, hands down the GOAT.

Isn't is strange how the Effie character was discriminated for her weight, Jennifer's singing career was stifled because of image and Jen comes back in reality smaller than her counterparts? Even if there was a surgery, that's been years ago and her weight has been kept off. Great seeing them all together, looking beautiful and sounding AMAZING!

Because the "original" was a stage production, few of us can make a true comparison. Cast albums notwithstanding, you HAD TO BE in the theatre to have experienced it. I saw & appreciated the Broadway version with the original cast; but also, thoroughly enjoyed the original film adaptation. Hudson and Knowles deserve everything that has come to them. I cheer them on the way I cheered on Ralph and Holliday, back in '83.

This is true, but Jennifer can really act. That's the thing, we all know Jennifer for her VOICE! That voice is what got us hooked but I think we are sleeping on her acting skills.
