When the village is invaded, the little girl is caught in a fire. But instead of dying, she shows up in the future and is adopted into another family. I really liked Fire Tripper and it was one of the few animes available to rent. Interesting and very informative. So it seems the Rin/Sesshomaru relationship was more like a older brother watching his little sister but then turns into romance as they get older. Which I believe Rin is the twins mother in the sequel. And the fire triggering the time travel thing reminds me of how Towa went to the future during a fire. I have a weird theory but it’s kind of twisted that Rin is a direct ancestor of Kagome. Which I heard Kagome’s felt a connection to Rin so I’m curious if Yashahime will explore that. That also means Towa and a Setsuna are as well.

@@jenv4453 yes that would make a lot of sense. I do see Towa going back to the feudal era as a reason to keep the timeline as is. Also since she can possibly be a direct ancestor to Kagome. But I don’t agree with the people saying “Sesshomaru and Rin's relationship is gross/grooming” and I believe they haven’t watched the anime lol if you watched it you know the relationship between the two characters is nothing like a father/daughter or sibling relationship. That’s why Sesshomaru is cold, he never once asked Rin to come with him or even feed her. It’s always “if you want, go look for food for yourself, you choose” I highly recommend the channel AxelBeats! In which he describes why their relationship isn’t wrong and for that time it was normal. Also brings up good counter arguments to the “the age gap, grooming” debate that comes between the characters and brings in historical facts about what was normal during that time period in Japan :) great video!!!

I never thought he was ever grooming her, he didn’t like humans and seemed to be intrigue with her. But he let her tag along and slowly came to care for her as something precious. I debated if he would be romantic with her but he clearly never made any inappropriate advances over and was protective. From what I can ASSUME from the new series and the old one, he was probably respectful to her and wouldn’t of had made a romantic til she realized her feelings when MUCH OLDER. Although the could show his feelings by giving her gifts and protecting her and I’m sure she got the hint that he no longer saw her as a child but older and loved her

I actually kind of prefer _Fire Tripper_ over _Inu Yasha,_ because the characters in _Fire Tripper_ seem more mature than Kagome and Inuyasha. While watching Inuyasha I found myself regularly frustrated by the immaturity of the two mains. Like, they CLEARLY like each other but are too embarrassed, even 200 episodes in to be honest about it. I appreciate the straightforwardness of _Fire Tripper_ and that the male character didn't play games or deny his feelings. Meanwhile the female character made a decision and wasn't denying her feelings towards him either. You don't normally see things this straightforward in anime! Thank you for covering this little known gem! ❤️

Obviously, Suzu/Suzuko had a rare form of telekinesis that only activates with the right amount of stimuli. The only reason it didn’t happen as often and so she didn’t discover this power she had sooner and therefore grew up in the modern time (albeit mid-80s Japan) perfectly stable is that she lived a mostly uneventful childhood/teenhood with very little traumatic incidents. Clearly, she never encountered that much fire during her time in the modern era, no doubt because the time in history she grew up in had very few cases involving fire, which means she didn’t have to deal with coming near fire. That’s why she didn’t time travel as frequently and lived oblivious to her power between the times she was 4 or 5 and 17.

I think what fire tripper tried to do was introduce the japanese concept of adopting spouses into the family to the western audience. Many families are stuck in the tradition of having men be the heirs to the family company/business. So when the family has only produced girls, they wait until the girls are older so that they can either arrange a marriage or just let them fall in love. Once the guy proposes the father of the bride gives a sort of adoption papers so that the man can change his last name legally to be the same one as the father's bride. This insures that the next head of the company/business is a male "of the family". So it's sort of like getting to marry a relative without actually being related and never been in the family at all until just then. It's not something that is super common but it's something that does happen frequently in Japan. You can even see it with the car company Nissan. I think it's been 3-4 generations of men being adopted into the family name so that they can run the company in the stead of the bride.
@Ash-mo7oc2 жыл бұрын
Which is why you see so many step sibling hentai in Japan. Because the same laws and concepts of having two people not be related to each other fall in love and all of a sudden having to share the same family name apply to step siblings legally in Japan.
@Ash-mo7oc2 жыл бұрын
The only difference between this and what's happening in fire tripper is that the little boy gets adopted by the girl's actual feudal era family long before she was born. And when she travels into the future as a kid, she has her name changed by her adopted family. So it's a role reversal of the adopting spouses that can only be set straight again by her going back to her original timeline and being reunited to her original family name.

I had to ask what about the other characters of InuYasha where and what are their original inspiration come from? For example: Kagome's school friends Yuka, Eri & Ayumi. Another example: Sango, Miroku, Kohaku, Hisui, the sisters, Myoga or even Koga's wolf-demon tribe travelers Ginta & Hakkaku. this story just makes my head spin. first i think it's a past self meets younger self movie, and then it turns to be supposed incest plot line and then very predictably so the guy actually turns out to be her own adopted family's brother. WTH!! two things, I do feel SUPER bad about the family that lost two of their children in a f*** gas leak incident. the very children that they didn't know were getting married in a feudal japanese setting through time slip incident. Any f*** couple would be BEYOND MORTIFIED to learn that they're long lost, thought to be deceased children are not just alive, but also ARE GETTING MARRIED TO EACH OTHER!!! so the parent's of the past they matter, they raised you, BUT what about the couple who gave birth to you, your birth parents, they don't matter??? They just lost their LIVES, then and there. While you two go having fun, your parents, BOTH OF YOUR PARENTS, are wailing in sorrow Also another thing to point out, anyone, I don't care who, I don't care in what time setting, if he or she, was telling anyone, in a joyful manner, that i'm gonna get married, specifically, not much AFTER THEIR OWN SISTER(supposedly, they didn't know) AND VILLAGE GOT BURNT, HE OR SHE SHOULD BE STRANGLED ON SIGHT 'Cause remember the villagers don't know that the guy whose supposed to be protecting them, is marrying his kind of sister.

Omggg a fan of Inuyasha since i was in gradeschool, this is so interesting for me. I watched another creation by Takahashi called Urusei Yatsura (Lamu: The Invader Girl) and loved it too. Takahashi really has a distinct style that you can easily tell if it's her creation. Question though: do you have any idea how/where I can watch Fire Tripper? 😬
@heyitsbridge3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can watch the full thing on KZbin! That’s what I did and yess omg I’ve loved inuyasha since I was old enough to even remember

Interesting because Towa was separated from Setsuna during the fire in the forest and travelled into modern Tokyo 🤔

I’m definitely looking up Fire Tripper if it’s anywhere to still be found. I am familiar with this author’s works so I wonder how it never came across my path? Ps: Siri origional auto-corrected it to Fire Stripper. Wtf?!? 😅😵
@heyitsbridge3 жыл бұрын
right?!! it's not very publicized for some reason, maybe because it's pretty old. i was able to watch the whole move on youtube for free, i think it's still available!

Fire Tripper. It’s also a one-shot manga (which is how I first found out about it years ago) in one of Rumiko Takahashi’s Rumic World books. :)

My favorite thing about both Shukumaru from the Fire Tripper and Koga from the Inuyasha is that both of them have such short pants. Kinda make you wanna see what's down there, hehehe... Peekaboo!

You can't just say anything. Where is your proof that RT said Rin is the canon to Fire Tripper? SessRin fans have been spreading a lot of lies about FT and ended up with egg on their faces.
@mhashifter10313 жыл бұрын
stop the cap. if you don’t like the ship that’s fine but sessrin don’t lie it’s usually the sesshomaru and jaguar shippers who do that

Kagome and Inuyashas love is so great though. They are trying to recreate it on inuyasha with random characters, and it’s not working. Lol they really trying to hook the gay guy and lesbian up
