For those of you who are fans of Inuyasha, you’ll find some comfortable and entertaining familiarity in the classic Rumiko Takahashi-esque themes within Fire Tripper. After seeing it’s striking resemblance in some aspects at least to Inuyasha, I’m pretty surprised I stumbled upon this work so late.
Fire Tripper, the anime short by Rumiko Takahashi was published in August 1983, and was later adapted into an anime OVA as the first of the Rumik World series. It was the short that served to inspire an iconic 2000s anime known across the world.Picture Inuyasha as an adaption of fire tripper, except a generation down the road, and then distributed across all the popular anime streaming platforms, becoming a hundred episode series with more cliche and likeable modern anime components- and now with even a reboot in 2020.
