Chat GPT says this: Yes, the Colt 1911 (or any firearm) would shoot in space, but there are a few interesting factors to consider: Oxygen Requirement: Firearms like the Colt 1911 use self-contained cartridges that include their own oxidizer (gunpowder). This means that even in the vacuum of space, the bullet could fire because the gunpowder doesn't rely on external oxygen to ignite. Recoil and Motion: In space, there's no atmosphere or gravity (depending on where you are), so once the gun is fired, the recoil would push you in the opposite direction of the bullet. The lack of air resistance means the bullet and the shooter would continue moving indefinitely until acted upon by another force. Cooling: On Earth, the atmosphere helps dissipate heat. In space, there's no air to cool the gun after firing, so heat would radiate away much more slowly. In summary, the Colt 1911 would fire in space due to the self-contained nature of the cartridge, but the lack of gravity and air would create unique effects, such as drifting from the recoil and slower heat dissipation.

You don't even know what the word "Fudd" means, obviously. Fudds are gun owners who think the Second Amendment is about hunting, and they support banning so-called "assault weapons" and other so-called "non-sporting" firearms. A true Fudd wouldn't even like the 1911, since it's not a traditional "hunting firearm," and they would have supported the various efforts to ban handguns in the US, most notably in 1934 (a handgun ban came very close to being included in the National Firearms Act of 1934).

I have two original 1911 pistols. My father was in the Air Force from 1955-1959. He was a navigator and was the chief intelligence officer for his squadron. He was qualified expert on the handgun, and most of the other officers in his squadron had him certify them too. He used a Smith and Wesson K 38. But his issued handgun was an early Colt 45. He kept it. It’s minute of barrel at 25 yards. But it still fires and that’s all that counts. The other one is an original government model that was converted to 38 Super. It’s been accurised and it’s still one of the most accurate pistols I’ve ever shot. These are indeed the best pistols ever made. Additionally, this was the best video you guys have ever made. And that’s saying something.

It’s amazing how a design over a century old can still compete with modern firearms in reliability and performance.
@stefthorman8548Ай бұрын
😂 ammo capacity, weight, reliability, an 1911 doesn't compete at all in all three of those category against an modern gun. btw, if you say "shot placement/1 shot 1 kill" then muskets/revolvers suit your needs better, since they use bigger ammo, and even less capacity for you to show off your "skills". Theres an reason why spec ops ditched their extremely modified 1911s for glocks, after desperately trying to make them work, they just don't, hammer fired is obsolete, even with high ammo capacity.
@Justin_GFMАй бұрын
@@stefthorman8548 Delta Force was issuing STIs (now Staccatos) in the 2000s, and various law enforcement agencies are issuing Staccatos currently. The design absolutely still holds up to the modern day, whether or not .45 still does in the era of modern 9mm ammo is a different discussion lol
@JohnnyReb2000Ай бұрын
@Justin_GFM it's hilarious how 1911 haters compare a 45 ACP 1911 to a Glock 17 to try to make a point on the "significant" capacity advantage of 9 mm over 45, when in reality, the capacity advantage is more so the single stack vs double stack than the caliber. It's the firearms equivalent of saying that a V6 is just as powerful than a V8, then cite the HP and Torque of the 5.0 Coyote, a naturally-aspirated engine, and a 3.5 Ecoboost, a twin turbo engine. Both apples to oranges comparisons.

That intro 🧑🍳💋👌I also have an 1918 US property M1911. My wife’s grandfather gave it to me for Christmas before he died. He asked me to take care of it. He bought it in the 60’s as a surplus gun. He only shot it a few times. I have only shot it once. I dual wielded it with my brother’s 1921 made M1911.

As long as it works. Soiled engineenering if it has been in use for 100+ years. If you went 1000 years into the future, this gun will still be made, why you may ask? GOOD GUN!

My birth certificate says I'm Gen X. My excitement level for this video says BOOMER. Even though I get more rounds, lighter weight, and "faster follow-up shots" with my 9mm's.... My .45 1911's are my favorite pistols by far. It's not even close. They always feel like the perfect shooting pistol.

Gotta love seeing OG firearms in action. We've got my great-grandfather's Springfield Krag-Jørgensen M1898 marked from 1917, only things replaced on it were a Redfield rear peepsight and a maple-wood offset stock hand-carved by my grandfather. Got dad's permission to take it out shooting like 3 years ago and it ran like a beauty, 40 rounds through it without a single jam, and while being the second gun my little brother had ever fired he still managed a 1-inch grouping at 40 yards

Hear me out bro an f150 costs 50k and depriciates to 10k over 10 years of owmership it used to be 12 when they were built better but you lose a fortune. I bet if you buy a gun like this it doesnt depriciate like that esspecially if these days its a safe queen a lot of times. So to me its got value as a historical relic. It shows how far ahead we were they were selling these. Look at the first lugers and how retarded those things function. The nazis need a cuck cartridge
