They would not listen to him. They fired him in the first place in 2010 for his ideas, despite being the creator of AC, because he wanted AC to have a beginning, a middle, a climax and an ending, like every proper story does. But Ubisoft wanted to milk AC forever, until they milk it dry.

I don't think this is the case, he seemed to just have had "luck" doing a very good game, that only launched to it's potential with the second one. His idea of there being only 3 AC games was later rejected by himself, deciding that there would have been 6 AC games. To me Ac needs a reboot, not just because the series is almost unrecognizable but the lore is now so confusing not building up to anything, the gameplay evolved but the core gameplay regressed (stealth, parkour) , there is also the fact that Ubisoft will run out of popular historical settings at some point and then what? The game needs to restart, clean up the parkour, improve the combat, get a good writer, get good voice actors, improve the side missions, choose a setting not just because of popularity but because of gameplay (where buildings are closer for parkour) The series needs it, i am personally excited for shadows but hexe sounds like pure bs to me , it’s a cool setting but I’ve no interest in watching sorcerer assassins , so shadows might be the last Ac game I actually play
