THE ORIGINAL SCREAM: SEASON 3 REVEALED! | Everything that was planned for MTV's 3rd Season...

So despite the fact that MTV's Scream came to an end and the show was passed over to VH1, there have been rumours that it was set to be returning some time this year. Those rumours have ended, following the leaked information that a reboot of the Scream TV Series is set to be airing on Paramount+. So what were MTV's plans for a Season 3? Well I managed to track down an interview with the directors and I read EXACTLY what was planned for the 3rd season of the show.

Since the plan was always to stretch a story of a serial killer on the lose to 10 episodes long, it was a great original show and he approved it himself... But now a days we have at least the Slasher Series, which is far better then this new Scream 5 movie could ever dream to be.

I watched this show weekly when it aired in 2015 and 2016 and thought it was pretty average. However, I'm currently rewatching it on Netflix six years later and think I was overly critical the first time round, harshly comparing it to the movies. This is actually a well written and acted show. The characters are really fleshed out especially Brooke, Noah and Audrey. I would love if they decided to do a season 3 of this.

The only real complaint I had with the series was that there was way too much kissing/romance plots. It's not that I don't like romance or seeing characters kiss its just that it happened more than once every episode and each romance scene lasted at least a minute or two which easily adds up and starts to become annoying after awhile especially when it's not even relevant or advances the plot, because I don't watch the show for romance I watch it for the murder mystery story and the character development. Also it would've been nice for the show to have a stronger connection to the movies and to explain why the killer uses the ghostface voice/calls if they aren't actually a ghostface.

Season 3's great, it has a twist you don't see coming :D. Beth is by far the best thing about that season, along with Tyler Posey and Tony Todd. But it doesn't compare to Seasons 1-2, but Beth is a babe. G.W is so beautiful and her acting is off the chain. But a Season 4 needs to come and finish off the Lakewood story. I'd love it if Eli came back.

Honestly I think Brandon James was innocent. It really seemed they were setting it up to have been Emma's dad or Brandon's brother as the original killer. I also wished they had just put Emma/Audrey together in the Halloween special cause that felt like the most fitting couple but I don't think MTV would have done it. This show was so good and I hope one day the Lakewood story can get a proper ending even if its just like years down the road like a 20 year later thing or something. It deserves an actual ending to wrap up its loose ends.

These are some interesting ideas for season 3 I’ve had for years! They are all different, tell me which ones you guys like. -Gustavo’s dad was Troy James this whole time -Gustavo’s dad or daisy or both did the original Lakewood killings, or one or the other or both was at least in on it -Gustavo’s dad could have killed Kieran because only he had such strong access to the jails because obviously he was a cop -Gustavo could have also killed Kieran -Gustavo was Kieran’s secret accomplice and he knew about his fathers involvement in the past Lakewood killings -Gustavo wasn’t the accomplice but knew Kieran was the killer and he killed the teacher guy (judging by his artwork) and he made Kieran clean it up for him. And that’s probably was Kieran meant by “I kept your word, you gonna tell me who you are?” -The phone call Kieran received was from a different person that actually killed him

I think Emma’s dad was the killer of the original murders. It seemed very convenient that he was the sole survivor of the killing, and the murders were “caused” by Brandon james ( who was really close with Emmas mom ) . Not to mention, that Brandon james didn’t attend the high school. So he wouldn’t be able to know the students enough to decide on killing them.

I love the idea of a time-skip, but Brandon shouldn’t be alive. His brother Troy could have been our red herring( similar to Cotton in Scream 2 ), but the actual killer should be someone new. The new killers should not target any of the OG group, but a new group. And this group would come to them for help. Kind of like a Scream 5.

I love this show. Yes at first I thought, wtf, what is up with the mask. I was a bit disappointed with the killer reveal being a sibling but loved how they revealed it in the end. Also loved how they continued it with season 2. That threw me for a loop but as I continued re watching the show it became more obvious, seeing all the little details i missed before. Would have loved a legit season 3. I didnt mind the 3rd season, didn't care for it too much either though. I love Keke Palmer and her character. That was about it. Other than that a bit rushed and sloppy. Though I loved the Tony Todd cameo. Love that man in anything he does. Season 3 should have been the Lakewood survivors and having the ending of it with them meet the originals Dewey, Gale and Sid in some way. Them coming in saying something like, "It's not gonna be over anytime soon. Trust us. We've lived with this for 20 years." It would have been great.

I have the biggest soft spot for the scream tv series (seasons 1&2). It was really the reason I got into horror movies bc I could sneak upstairs and watch the scream show on mtv in 6th grade. I thought the characters were likeable and actually had personality. I only watched the OG movies after I watched this show and it is one of my favorite movie series now. 1. Emma's dad it would make sense he would want to kill Kieran because of what Kieran did to Emma and her friends and obviously wouldn't let that go. 2. Brandon James when Kieran gets into jail he gets a call from someone saying hello Kieran who told you that you could wear my mask which means it could be Brandon James because it was his mask in the first place and Kieran been using Brandon James home and pig farm as a hideout.

I haven’t watched your video yet but I remember a scream account leaking all this before it was rebooted (and they were always right ab season 2) before the show was Rebooted, It was always gonna be 6 episodes. A main character was gonna be the opening kill (Stavo was a contender) At least 2 epsiodes were written for a the original storyline’s season 3 as episode 2 had to be rewritten as MTV didn't approve of a characters death. It would be more like season 1 focusing more on the Brandon James and Lakewood history although the first 2 episodes wouldn’t be set in Lakewood. Audrey would find out who the killer is before everyone else but something would have happened that would have gotten in the way. The killer would have been Someone we haven't met as the showrunners knew we thought it would be either Stavo or Kevin, they were planning it to be the last season. And btw when it got rebooted mtv confirmed they had plans for season 4,5,6 and beyond for an anthology, they compared it to AHS Edit: they just need to bring this back

I loved the show - I particularly liked right in the first episode they have Noah basically tell the audience "If this is going to work, you need to buy into the teen drama aspect of the show", because while it had a few inventive kills, the only reason I cared about most of the kills was that I'd come to care about the characters. The movies are fun slasher romps (I even liked Scream 4; I haven't seen the most recent though), but the longer format added something to the genre that I honestly appreciated.

This series left a lasting impression on me it always lingers in the back of my head rent free I was so invested into the story along with my brother and cousin us 3 being hard scream fans liking anything to do with the character ghostface even in DeadbyDaylight we were overjoyed that we were able to play/run as/from him and the TV series was able loveable characters and awesome kills and when we notice that the “season 3” we originally got wasn’t continuing/picking up off that mega cliffhanger we were bummed and confused but we still found enjoyment from it nice kills sum more decent characters even we kinda knew who the killer would be in the end it was kinda obvious but it was fun watching them play The Who’s The Killer Guessing game a very optimistic side of me always held up they would go back to the original cast and an even more optimistic side of me though wat if they set it up with both of the cast from Lakewood and the ones from the reboot with double the kills, episode, and story but that just be being too hopefully (｡•́‿•̀｡)

Agreed. some people harshed this show so much and I rewatched and I’m beyond shock of how great this show was definitely with the mystery and who dun it scenario and season 2 was beyond great I just don’t understand but hey it is what it is, I just wished they will bring them back for season 3 for paramount plus and have them crossover with the scream movies with Sidney that would be sick and dope man definitely with Sidney, Emma, Sam, Tara, and Kirby man!!! lol.

Scream season 1 and 2 were so good :( and I’m an original scream watcher. I grew up on the movie from the 90s. Bummer that it’s not going to connect to the season ones :(

I didn't mind the season 3 we got, but it was definitely a step down IMO. I'm always the last person who notices bad acting and honestly it doesn't ever bother me, but the first episode of season 3 took me out of the show almost entirely because of the acting 😂 Keke Palmer (whom I love) even felt like she wasn't giving it her all. I want a season 3 of the Lakewood characters!! I've loved Bex since the first season and I need to see them on my TV again! (I know they were in Hell Week, but I have yet to see that).

I loved it Scream the TV Series and I definitely was sad that the original plot wasn't finished. Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the rebooted season 3 but I am left wondering what could have been. Is it true that it is returning to Paramount Plus?

Thanks for the info about the potential season 3 with the original cast. I loved season 1 and 2 and pretty much all the characters in the show to. Audrey was my favorite along with Brooke. But I do think all of them had great story lines, growth and mystery just to list some. I wanted the show to continue for sure especially with how we were left with the cliffhangers at the end of season 2 and what was said for season 3 sounded great. I did watch the season 3 that was aired and it wasn't horrible but I do feel it was kinda weak with storyline as far as why there was a killer. Season 3 that was aired seemed really rushed and like they didn't care about it.
