Showing up to help other actors on off days apparently runs in the Sutherland family. Aisha Tyler worked with Kiefer on 24 and characters would have phone conversations. She said Kiefer would just come in and read his off-camera lines to help make the show feel real as opposed to using an assistant or stand-in stand-in, on his days off too.
