I don't want the originals to become the vampires diaries, like stunted character growth, recycled storylines, and such. I don't want it become a chore to watch which last season at certain times it did. I don't envision the show lasting a decade but that's in no way a bad thing. If focus on the family, cut the story fat, and have an have a final chapter they are working towards then it will work. Season 2 is still my favorite.
