I've been studying Islam for over 20 years and I have never known this! Wow! This is really a different level of thinking. I claim I'm a Muslim and I fast during Ramadan and try my best to pray 5 times a day, but I know I fall so short of the glory that I know that the ultimate goal is to be amongst the Mu'min which is a higher level than being a Muslim and this is the type of thinking that will get me there. Usually, when I make salat I ask Allah to forgive my eyes for the bad things I have seen or watch, my mouth for the curse words or bad things an so on and so forth but I never knew WUDU was designed to do all of that. The next time I make WUDU inshallah I will have a different perspective.

After performing ghusl can you make your Salah or you have to make wudu after then perform your salah

Ach hadou an la ilaha illa Allah wahdahou la charika lah wa ach hadou anna mohamedan 'abdouhou wa rasoulouh / Allahoumma j'alni mina tawabin waj'alni min al moutatahirin (the first part is the testimony of faith/second part you ask Allah to count you among the repented and purified).

@Shawn Izekiel As'Salaamu Alaikum , brother, I'm in cape town also struggling little bit reciting the Quran, Algamdulillah, I bought myself a translation Quran, ( Arabic,translation,and meaning is in there, brother I wish I could help you, honestly, I wouldn't even ask payment for it,, what I can advise you is to go to your nearest mosque, ask the Imaam if you can attend classes for beginners, he wil surely help you, my brother, May Allah(SWT) open the doors of knowledge (to recite the Quran) and understanding(of its meaning) for you, and guide you to someone who is willing to help you for the sake of Allah,,IN Shaa Allah,
