I’m glad you created this video talking about the Creation story, but from the Orisha perspective because I learned from reading this book titled “The Handbook of Yoruba Religious Concepts,” that there was never a “Fall” from grace according to the Yoruba tradition and hearing that was such a relief given the fact that in Christianity they teach you that you were born a sinner when in reality we were born dual-natured with a purpose because you can’t have one without the other(referring to light and dark). Plus it’s always good to see a different interpretation of the Creation story other than the one from the Christian perspective. Also there were three connections that I made from watching this video: The first connection is that when you mentioned Obatala getting drunk and falling asleep while making his creations, it made me think of the story of Sekhmet and how Ra had to get her drunk in order to stop her from killing people according to Egyptian mythology. The second connection I made was when you mentioned how the female variation of Olokun flooded out the land after she found out that humans and other Orishas were now occupying it. Hearing this made me think of the story of Noah’s Arc in the Bible. And finally, the third connection that I made goes back to the video you made of Yemaya and in that video you mentioned how the male variation of Olokun spilt himself in half in order to create Yemaya. Hearing you say that makes me think of the book of Genesis and how when Adam was asleep, the Christian God took from Adam’s rib in order to create Eve. But otherwise than that I enjoyed the story from beginning to end and I can’t wait to see what else you come up with!

I found out my family was doing hoodoo just a month ago I really was hurt. My granny has been gone for 30 years . Her brother passed maybe several years ago. There's no one around to get information from. The good thing that came out of that is I got confirmation on my spiritual walk.

When you can’t sleep & go to your favorite storyteller’s channel to listen to stories on “play all.” This story was amazing & I definitely connected it to stories I was “taught” growing up in the church. I like this version better. Explains why I never accepted the stories told. I’ll be looking out for your audiobooks because your voice is a gift.

Blessings and Great energy...Queen yaya I hope this message isn't to long but I have been on a spiritual journey trying to figure out why all my life just being Christian hasn't fulfilled me like my Mema or my mother etc so on this journey while researching I came across a few but with you for some reason it just really stuck lol while learning your insight about the Orisha Yt Connected me to queen po and the first thing I watched was how hoodoo which was practiced by our ancestors is still practiced in methodist along with other denomination I was brought up in a methodist church and it hit home with all I wrote just now what I am saying is the connection between the occult spirituality what ever the political correct name is we as melenated people are all descendent of what is labeled as the occult roots black magic etc. So as a almost 50 year young person thank you for opening my eyes to so much more you and your king are really spiritually blessed by sharing all to the world ty

Lovely story, I am a Yoruba man, who grew up in the Christian doctrine, while I appreciate the story because I feel the need and urge to learn about myself and more people, I will like to say the concept of fluidity is not a part of the Yoruba culture, they were either masculine or feminine, Obatala was a masculine, fluidity is not of Yoruba heritage or culture, while it's appreciated and respected in other cultures its not a part of ours, Sango was a masculine, married three wives, one of which was his brother's (Ogun), they got in a fight and Obatala was one of those who helped settle the fight. While I'm learning from the cultural point of view they were either masculine or feminine, Yemoja, was referred to as Yeye, meaning mother..... Thank you
