The transition from last years Oscar’s to this years was a breathe of fresh air. I’m always expecting something bad or cringe to happen when watching it every year. Lemme tell ya, I was satisfied as hell with this years Oscar’s, compared to last years where it was an absolute dumpster fire. This year had no violence, no hot messes, no cringe moment (maybe some of kimmel’s jokes but it was fine) but nothing bad overall imo, they really stepped up their game. And I was satisfied with a lot of the nominations and wins! I’m really hoping they remain like this in the next few years.

I feel like Kirsten took the joke well though, she was laughing, and that's why everybody loves Kirsten Dunst. Oddly humble for a child star. @lanzi_xo2 жыл бұрын
@@tearichardson8458 No, she didn't insult Kirsten. Kirsten was in on the joke the entire time. Look it up. The hosts, writers, producers, performers, etc. spend 6 months working on this entire show. A LOT of work goes into it, more than the average viewer may even realize. I work in the industry, so I know wat I'm talking about. These live events get super hectic during pre-production and are even more hectic during the run-of-show (what we see on live tv), and the hosts spend months rehearsing and preparing ahead of time. So yeah, when you spend ALL that time working hard to make sure you have a good show that runs smoothly, and then some BS like this happens that basically ruins ALL the work you put into it, and the headlines are all just about being about the slap instead of the hosts, the awards won, etc.... you'd feel like you need a break too. It took 6 months to get this show ready, and it took 10 seconds for the entire thing to be completely ruined. She also has a family, a new show called Life & Beth that just premiered on Hulu, AND an upcoming comedy tour later this year where she'll have to constantly be traveling while balancing other projects that we haven't heard of yet. Celebs always have multiple projects going on at the same time. So I think a month off for her is well deserved.

Those are all recycled stolen jokes. But nobody bats an eyelash. So obviously stealing jokes isn't the real issue. So that leaves the question, what is the real issue? It's obviously misogyny. @@zzzcocopepe First of all, I am not gay. I am supportive of LGBTQ+, but there’s no need for assuming. I don’t really care for RuPaul either. If the act of “reading” someone involves reusing old jokes for the sake of a reality TV challenge, then I don’t really find it funny (assuming your description is entirely accurate because I have little past knowledge). Second of all, I don’t hate her, I just find her comedy unfunny. I like her as an actor though; I enjoyed her lead role in I Feel Pretty, and I’ve seen enough interviews to understand she’s not as bad as people make her out to be. That being said, her comedy is still subpar, at least in my opinion, and she should either improve or just stop. I do agree with you on misogyny being an issue, especially in comedy. There is a general stigma around women in comedy, and if you’ve been around youtube you’ve certainly seen the “haha women aren’t funny” compilations. This misogyny extends out to the music industry as well, but that’s a whole other conversation. Reinforcing misogynistic stereotypes is ultimately harmful, obviously, and there are a number of funny women and female comedians in Hollywood: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Tiffany Haddish, Jenny Slate, and Mindy Kaling to name a few of my favorites. Amy Schumer just doesn’t compare to any of them, and I genuinely don’t find her funny. Maybe she will improve her comedic output in the future, but for now, please don’t generalize me or anyone else as misogynistic for feeling an aversion to Amy Schumer.
