The other 39'ers

This year’s Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras will feature a Special Moments and Memories float, celebrating the many activists, volunteers, artists, performers, and staff who have built and sustained the event since 1978.
Themed as a huge hive representing the Mardi Gras workshop surrounded by up to 70 ‘worker bees’ representing the diversity of people who have contributed to Mardi Gras, each bee carrying flowers and images representing their contributions and memories.
