I find it funny that you only went for army ants haha Jokes aside this is one of the best extra levels due to the narrative presence I really hope they can make “the other foot 2” Also it’s lovely to see the original overworld texture

Reason why is because army ant media are pretty cheap and have good DPS. Slavemakers and trapjaws are a bit of an ehh, since they’re only mainly good at level 3 and are more expensive. Army ant majors there for the rage and to destroy everything lol.

So here's a funny thing, I remember playing and beating both the Counterpart Colony 'and' the Primary Colony on impossible difficulties, but I wanted to try using the 'strongest' versions of both colonies as they appeared to the other in their respective maps, and used the exact same nest layout to see which was stronger when 'not' controlled by the player. I don't know if anyone is interested, but the Counterpart Colony has the following ants at their respective levels~ Army Ant Soldiers (only 1 group) 22 level 1s, 23 level 2, and 21 level 3 Trap Jaw (group 1) 8 level 1, 16 level 2 Slave Maker (group 1) 7 level 1, 16 level 2 Slave Maker (group 2) 10 level 1, 18 level 2, and 23 level 3 Trap Jaw (Group 2) 11 level 1, 5 level 2, and 17 level 3 Army Ant Major (only 1 group) 15 lvl 1, 6 lvl 2, and 21 lvl 3 with 15 level 3 workers and a max food supply of 2300 as for the primary colony, it has Black ant (group 1) 19 level 2 Black Ant (group 2) 4 lvl 2, 15 lvl 3 Wood Ant Mortar (group 1) 19 lvl 2 Wood Ant Mortar (group 2) 16 lvl 2, 3 lvl 3 Leaf Cutter Major taunt (group 1, 19 lvl 2) Leaf Cutter Major Taunt (group 2) 15 lvl 2, 4 lvl 3 10 level 3 workers and 3700 food supply max so far i've yet to 'only' be able to defeat the Counterpart Colony using the Primary Colony's nest layout and ant collection but it was actually quite the challenge since most tend to max out their upgrades, and in a straight up fight I lose 'most' fights but my colony has more food reserves and can resupply soldiers more effectively because of the nest layout (its hexagonal in nature as seen in the video) but the counterpart colony just has sheer weight of numbers and straight up outmuscles you in a head on fight. As for the 'nest layout' of the counterpart... its a mess, iuno why that colony thought its nest layout was a good setup lol...

The counterpart has just sheer numbers. The army ant rage is op as well. The primary colony in the extra level isn't that powerful, being limited on its strength. The nest layout is a weird one for sure on the counterpart side, half the chambers are far away from the queen and passing the middle mark in the underground cuts off the workers from a ton of chambers.

I think this is the best extra level in the game, maybe better than hibernation. What we need now is the other foot 2, which would have the counterpart gain driver ants and african stink ants.

Agreed, I love the level a lot as well. I do like Hibernation better though, since the music and decor is amazing and unique.

@@ashleypugh6579 I’ve had an idea for an extra level where the player plays as a bha colony. You have to guard aphids in different locations as your colony doesn’t have an aphid plant close to them. But you have competition from a fire ant colony, but not just any, it’s the same one from 4.2, A bridge too far. The only way you win is killing the fire ants or gatherings enough food from either aphids or creatures similar to the harvest but in the swamp.
