I've never really thought Chris Paul was all that, but a little factoid I've literally never heard mentioned that goes to show how much the superteam era left him behind was that he was one of only 3 players on the Olympic '08 redeem team to NEVER play on an NBA team with another member of that team (Tayshaun Prince and Michael Redd were the other 2 and they didn't play whole lot longer). So that kinda goes to show why a title hasn't happened. But it's also pretty rare to see anyone mention just how few seasons he was widely considered the best point guard in the NBA.

But more to the point, that Redeem Team doubled as a networking event and Paul was the guy nobody at any stage in their career was teaming up with. Even in Boozer's case at that point nobody really knew what Kobe was gonna look like that year since he only played a few games and got hurt again the year before so for Boozer after he got amnestied it was a "why not, who knows, maybe Kobe can make a come back and I'm still productive". Paul nobody picked. Not a one.
