I got a call on day where, on the phone, the customer said their bathtub wouldn’t drain. No problem, I thought. I get there to discover that their toilet had clogged, but they continued to use it until it was full and solid/dry up to the seat. So, they decided to start using the bathtub as their toilet. The bathtub was filled to about 12” deep (half-way above the bottom of the overflow) with weeks or months-worth of what would have gone down a working toilet - it was crusty and wet on top and had a mud consistency from the top to the bottom of the bathtub. Yup…the tub was clogged for some reason. It was the middle of summer and the air conditioning wasn’t working, so the entire house was filled with flies, but mostly in the bathroom where they were like a swarm due to all of the maggots feasting in the toilet and tub, growing into new flies. I had a conversation with the man and woman living there to let them know why their tub was clogged and to let them know I would not be snaking their tub that day. I gave them the phone number of a company I knew that dealt with biohazards, gave them a bill and never returned. How would you have handled this one, Jay?

I would have made a video that hopefully went viral, lol. Honestly, I've only walked away from two jobs. The thing is, I don't want to get on my knees in apartments like this, like if I had to remove the toilet from the floor. If I could plunge or auger the toilet, I might try, but I think I would have to be in the situation to say for sure.

How long was that just sitting there before you were called. Is it really me? I just had a clogged toilet and I cleaned the toilet the best I could then wait for maintenance to help me.
