The Outpost - New River Gorge Campground

We stayed at The Outpost - New River Gorge Campground October 7-9, 2022.
The Outpost campground is fairly new, having recently opened last year in 2021. We wanted to create a quick video to show you the grounds and where we stayed. The campground is super close to the New River Gorge Bridge. It's super clean, and we would highly recommend the full hookup sites; we stayed in site 21. The full hookup sites have a beautiful small creek running behind you. The full hookup sites are double-wide with tons of space! They provide a fire pit for you as well. They do request that you purchase firewood on-site since you are near a National Park and want to protect it!
You will find a ton of hiking in the area! We recommend the Long Point Trail; you'll see the photo I took at the top of the hike overlooking the New River Gorge Bridge and the river at the end of the video. We also highly suggest you take a drive to Babcock State Park, visit the grist mill, and do some hiking. We also stopped at the Main Overlook at Grandview. It offers a beautiful view of the large horseshoe bend in the New River. Easy walk from the main parking lot. Great spot for watching the sunrise!
West Virginia has won our hearts and we cannot wait to get back and explore more of this area! The historic downtown area of Fayetteville looked super cute! We cannot wait to go back.

Hey Ross I was at my moose lodge tonight and we have a member camping on our lot tonight and I discussed your campground with them today. This video and your comment was particularly useful since you said that you have an alternative for fifth wheel campers as my moose lodge members have. I'm pretty sure I sold them on your campground my friend.
