One day cricket has certainly helped hone the skills and innovation of the players and its carried through to all forms of the game. Great performances from England, Alistair Cook, Freddie, Andrew Strauss, Joe Root, Jimmy and who can forget 8 for 15 at Trent Bridge in 2015 from Chris Broad's little lad!!

It's still my favourite English cricket memory, above even 2005 or the away win in 2010/11 or taking the #1 raking in 2011 (exactly 12 years to the day since we'd taken the last place ranking at the same ground). I think it's because it felt so unexpected. After Australia destroyed us at Headingley, it felt like normal service being resumed. Then Stuart Broad bowled that wonderful spell and suddenly a series I'd expected England to lose was there for the taking. Was so upset when someone deleted my recording of the highlights from my Sky Box - thank god for KZbin! :-)

@mrkipling2201 Жыл бұрын
@@sunilpokhrel8904I have to disagree. We had a better team in 2005. Unfortunately injuries deprived us of key players after the 2005 Ashes series. Like Vaughan, Simon Jones and Trescothick. Trescothick had his problems with his mental health which meant he had to leave the 2006/07 Ashes tour halfway through. No Vaughan or Jones in that series. If we'd had the same team that we had in 2005, in Australia in 2006/07, fit and firing, it wouldn't have been 5-0. Australia would have still won it but it would have been a lot closer.
