We used to watch them every Friday in our school during Federal day school, great memories.

I watched this when I was 5 or 6, as an extra film that an art gallery showed us on a field trip when they had an exhibit of Inuit art. I could never find it again, I'm glad YT has it!

I can also see the moral in this for Inuit society as well as us down south- you never brag, traditionally, it's thought to be unlucky and to be very unlike such a communal society. Going about singing and dancing about how great you are or what you just did was basically a great way to assure that whatever you'd hunted to bring home would probably not get brought home after all! And it was all too easy to starve in the High Arctic.

They're totally adorable, made from real sealskin. There's 3rd puppet, a raven one that can be seen in animated shirt film "Owl and Raven" (can be found here in KZbin)

Tis a really old story I'm part of the Blackfoot culture and I believe this is intuitive story

Is this the sequel to the owl and the raven?
@mrj.kottari84534 жыл бұрын
I think these are just parallel, unrelated short movies made by same people. This Owl has different coloring than the Owl in "Owl and Raven" -- and this one's supposedly a male character while the one in Owl & Raven had female voice.
