Hey Mikey, just wanted to let you know in regards to the time travel stuff, the show already established in the episode that it doesn't change the past. You might have missed it because it happens pretty quickly, but when Luz and Lilith first find the time pools, Lilith trips over what she thinks is a rock, only to later get accidentally kicked in the head by her past self when she sticks her head into the time pool. Similarly, Belos has had a crooked nose since ever his face reveal, and in the episode, Lilith punches his and breaks his nose, causing the crooked nose. So anything that they do in the past doesn't change the present, because it had already happened. It's a closed loop. I hope this explanation makes sense, it was a bit tricky to figure out how to say it haha Loving the reactions, btw 😊

theory i’ve seen: when luz says “GET OUT OF MY HEAD!” and covers her ears when the abomiton turns on the siren, it’s because it reminds her of the sirens on the ambulance that took her dad away😭😭😭

I don't know what's more sad, the fact that Luz's father died, or that she felt she had to hide it from everyone. The reveal hits me even harder since my mother passed away.

I'm in pretty much the same boat as Luz, and the way she acts about it is something that hits very close to home. especially when it happens when you're young, it's very easy to slip into just not talking about it because it's easier

I’m sorry for your loss. My father passed as well a few years ago. This episode definitely hit me a type of way. My laughing in the episode isn’t because I found things funny, but more because that’s how I cope with things that upset me

This episode always make me think of something we discuss in my psychology course about grief, it's call the Ball in the Box Analogy; Picture a Box labeled Life, inside that box is a button labeled pain. One day a ball gets placed in the box and the ball is so big it takes up all the space and presses down on the button. Over time the ball gets smaller and smaller but it constantly bounces around the box. Sometimes the ball will bounce off a wall and hit the button, sometimes it will miss, but the ball will always be there. For Luz being a teenager makes grief and mourning really complicated already, especially for kids who lost a parent, adding onto that she's away from her normal support structure and coping rituals this can complicate things even further. This is not an excuse for Luz, it's just that she exhibited one of the most common grief responses a person can have to these types of stressors.

This is an older video, so I have no idea if anyone will see/care about this, but I’ve heard a theory that the reason the Abomaton’s alarm really set Luz off is because it reminded her of ambulances and that brought up bad memories surrounding her dad’s death.

This episode holds a special place in my heart because it genuinely caught me off guard the first time I watched it. I went from being frustrated with Luz lying again after Follies to heartbroken for her when she told the truth, it’s such an emotional episode. And not to spoil anything, but yes, this is only the beginning of the heartbreak :’)

Episode 14 broke my heart because my father gone before I was born, so my grandpa helped my mom to raise me, he was the only father that i met, and he passed away at 2015 and i'm still missing him. Besides my dog (which was a gift from my grandpa) died some months ago. So i perfectly understand Luz's pain

Just putting this out there as someone who's mom passed away in high school. Not talking about it and not sharing can sometimes be what you need to do, or not do. At that age, seriously no one (or very few) knew what to say or what to do. It made everyone feel bad which made me feel worse. Therapy talking could have probably helped but it is hard. You said she looks tired yeah - the grief doesn't end, not really ever, just lessens and she's too young for it to have been "a long time ago". Sorry for my rant but this show hit me hard (my dad also passed 8 years ago now). Kids aren't great at emotions, she's dealing with something very few others her age have had to experience, and the added trauma of not being with her mom - it's just a little too easy to say, she should have communicated and doesn't excuse her behavior. Okay, now I'll stop.

Hey I know exactly what Luz is going through. My dad is dead and my mom attempted suicide at one point. I almost lost both of my parents in a few months span. I can’t speak for how others deal with something like that, but only with my own experiences. Keeping it in tore me apart because I felt I couldn’t be honest about how I feel. I felt I had to be the strong one for everyone. Started treating others very differently because I couldn’t handle my own stuff. Treating people I care about poorly. So a lot of what I said in this video, while I get where she was coming from, it just personally bugged me. Because it just reminded how I was and it’s no excuse to possibly hurting others. And I’m not going to speak about these experiences in videos, because it is my personal life. I just wish people wouldn’t assume things about me, because the only thing you all see is what is in the video. I’ve been getting a lot assumptions about me lately with these Owl House reactions, but I just wish people realize that you are only getting a fraction of who I am. So I’m sorry if some of you are bothered about how I felt about her behavior, but it’s just how I feel. And it’s coming from someone who has grieved. All that laughing in that reaction at weird moments is because that’s how I cope with feeling like shit, because that’s how this episode made me feel

@@MikeyVenture first, I'm terribly sorry you went through that. Losing parent/s is hard at any age. And adults don't always handle it any better than kids do. I was making an assumption of an adult responding to how a child is responding (or how she is written to respond), not that you may not have experienced loss. I think it's easy to forget what we were like when we were 15. Everyone handles grief and trauma differently. If someone came to me when I was 15, and they told me how I could handle it "better", I would have told them, and did tell them, to 'f off. Hindsight and experience with complex, deep emotions make it easier to now say, she should have done this or that. You provide your reaction to the show and we provide our reaction to your reaction. For me that was it and nothing more. I'm sorry if you felt attacked. I certainly didn't mention anything about laughing at weird moments because I didn't notice it and as a giggler in awkward moments, wouldn't have said anything. I'm guessing that was about other comments. Keep on with your reactions but take a break from them or the comments if you need to. And go hug your pup.
