Tbh I dislike how people want to erase every time Darius bullied Hunter just because he was a chad in the end. Like, I understand it wasn't entirely horrible, it was mostly patronizing comments and mean statements that nudged him in the right direction, but with Hunter's home life? When his only family is a narcissistic asshole that makes him feel like his entire purpose and worthiness of love is tied to being useful and doing his job well? When he was never allowed to be a kid or have a normal childhood? When he has never gotten positive reinforcement from an adult in his life ever?? That shit is traumatizing man, if I were Hunter I would've had nightmares about every insult I received from any coven head or guard, it's legit verbal abuse. I know Hunter is starved for anyone treating him like a person with feelings, so he reacted well to Darius in the moment and I don't judge that, I was too stunned to be mad too. But after I've had time to process I very much felt like "What the fuck, Darius? What is wrong with you?". I don't think he should be forgiven this easily. I get Darius's character, I do. I can also see his side and how he didn't realize how harmful his comments were, but he's got some work to do. The Owl House has gone above and beyond impressing me with it's storylines, so I hope we get the chance to see him actually _put in_ that work to apologize and repair the damage he has done, but I also know all the chances are stacked against it, since the third season will be so short. Whatever they did with him this season will have to do, and I'll be fine with that.
