Dana Terrace did actually go to other studios before Disney, including Cartoon Network, but none of them would green light it. Dana Terrace said that studios just aren’t interested in animation or taking risks on new serialised shows. It’s really sad to think about as there are probably heaps of other animated shows that will never get green lit because of that.

Things that were quietly confirmed by Dana. 1. It's implying Hooty is a type of parasitic owl "worm" that lives in Titan eyes. 2. The eye on the door was the Titan's actual iris of his eye. 3. The eye was removed to trap the collector in the lens of said eye. Also, the outro was the way it was for a reason. It leaves room for a continuation if Disney is ever convinced to renew the show.

Gods it was such a genius play to have the collector redeemed, then immediately try to turn around and redeem Belos, and have it immediately showcase what the difference between them is. Kindness and forgiveness worked on the collector for the same reason it worked on Amity, Lilith, Hunter, Mrs. Clawthorne, hell even *Eda* to an extent, for a very simple reason: in the face of their mistakes and/or misdeeds, they found it in themselves to admit they were wrong and to change for the better, even when that was incredibly uncomfortable and/or risky for both them and the people showing them that kindness. But then there's Belos, a man who was never really misled or had any real reason beyond his control to end up the way he was. He's a selfish, self-rightous man that refuses to take on new information and adapt accordingly no matter how many chances he gets to do it. THAT is the difference, and it's brilliantly shown.

It's funny that Belos (mostly) dies from the boiling rain because he's "human," but being melted from water is such a witch way to die. Also, "We're human; we're better than this" is probably my personal favourite line in the series, because at that moment, both "humans" are the furthest thing from human, but in opposite directions. Luz is a growth spurt away from being a literal god, and Belos is a few stomps away from being compost. Two humans, but not human at all. I love this show's writing.

Speaking of tattoo, did you notice that all of the kids have a Flapjack tattoo? On their arms or legs. If you're inspired to do one, it's an option. And when you pay attention, you'll see that after Belo's defeat, now everyone has some tipe of Titan symbol somewhere on their outfit. It's a nice little detail. Bc before ppl used to fear the Titan, and now they know the whole truth and have a titan around, they respect and love him instead of fear him. Plus if you watch closely, you'll notice that Eda and Raine exchanged earrings and Amity gave luz her moon necklace. The fans theorize it's a way in the boiling island to show that the relationship became more serious. Like an engagement ring to us, but with their own jewlry.

Idk if this inspired that choice but in N. D. Stevenson’s She Ra and the Princesses of Power, they didn’t know if Netflix would be ok with characters being in openly gay relationships when they started creating this tv show. To combat this, N. D. Decided that in this world and culture, when you love/marry someone, you exchange a piece of of clothing/jewelry (I’m not sure which is the exact phrasing) with each other. So these characters would have one thing on their design that looked out of place/ not cohesive, but would match someone else. It was a subtle way to show the relationships without being outright about it.

One of my favorite things is how the owl house timeskip is about the same amount of time that the show took to come out entirely. If you started watching at the very beginning, at age 14 like Luz, you end the series at about 17/18, ready to head off to college with her. I started at 15, a few months before season 2 came out. and the finale came out about 5 months before I turned 18. This show is one of the most special things to me.

I've watched this finale several times now, and every time, I start tearing up when Luz "dies", when Eda and Luz start using magic together, and the last "Byeeee~!" of the series. Every time. It has nothing to do with shock, nothing to do with getting caught off guard- it's just so impactful that even knowing the whole episode front to back, it makes me cry. There aren't many things that get that kind of response from me, and the Owl House Finale is for sure the strongest.

I wanted to watch The Owl house last year but just never got to it. THIS is what did it for me.
