Anne's cameo felt like the only piece of levity in this whole episode. It's such an epic season finale, and there were barely any room for jokes. I think my two favorite moments were Belos "recognizing" Caleb in his Grimwalker, and Collector moving the moon, as it really creeped me out to see that amount of power.

It makes me smile in a way, that Camilla was looking up how to bring her kid back from another world…and finding out some other kids disappeared to one and scouring the news for info on how they did it

The editing is top-fuckin'-tier as always The reveal of The Collector's form is always such a shock. You look at them and realize "This is literally a toddler," and then it kicks in, "This is a toddler with god powers, and WE'RE the toys." No understanding of right and wrong, no higher goal than just having fun, no concept of consequences. Virtually impossible to reason with because of that, and stringing them along with promises of fun and games will only work for so long before YOU stop being fun to them. There's no predicting a child that young, no appealing to better reason. Just the wait for the sudden turn.

One thing that kinda just occurred to me is that every child who didn’t have a coven stamp would be watching their parents wither away without being able to do anything. The isles would be left with a bunch of orphans mourning the loss of all their parents and any adult figure in their lives. Belos would have left an entire island full of orphans who would likely be totally unable to care for themselves, expecting them to slowly die as a result. Not that the kids would have no chance of survival, but they’re still ignorant kids who would be all in mourning.

According to Raine's explanation of the Day of Unity, 'The spell targets those with Coven Sigils, using the nine types of magic as ingredients for the spell itself'. So I'd assume that the 'spell itself' is a wave of magic that would kill anyone left without sigils. ...which would make Belos trying to leave before it completes make sense; he doesn't want to be killed along with them.

So I know I'm late but I want to give my theory on how Phillip's curse works because it's never fully explained: So, Phillip, being a 30-something year old man at that time, knew he probably didn't have long before dying as most humans in that era, and he knew his plan needed much more time than that. So he created a glyph combo that allowed him to shapeshift, probably inspired by basilysks, so he would get full control of his age and body to keep living. The thing is, glyphs, as much as they need the Titan's magic, also consume the object they're casted in (like when Luz uses paper sheets, the glyph consumes the paper) so the glyphs started to eat at Phillip's arm like we see in Elsewhere and Elsewhen. He needed a way to create a magic flow in his body that fed the glyphs constantly, and what better for that than Palismen Souls. Phillip started to eat palismen souls, but if he ran out, not only the glyphs would eat at him, but would also stop working. Not being able to shapeshift, his true form would show up, a 400 year old rotting corpse only able to be alive because of the palismen souls. That's what his goopy form is, it isn't a monster form, it's literally his own corpse reanimated by palismen souls.

oh shit !!!! we love interesting villains who have depth but are still irredeemable :] 10:24 the gut punch 🥲 Belos' smile when Luz calls him Philip 🤢 I relate to the panicked noises/not forming words throughout the later half of this reaction. SO real also you were actually freaked out by all the dead GGs! so many reactors like don't comment on it or are just really nonchalant about it. i was YELLING about it and the fact that they're constantly in the background and foreground during that entire scene. like i struggled to focus on the scene because i was just taking all that in. the things these cartoons are able to get away with through implication blows my mind. it's so sad to think about all the past "hunters" who never had a chance, never got away from belos. luz really saved hunter. collector theme song go stupid go crazy. my jaw literally dropped when belos went splat + it was so sad seeing how upset hunter was over this man whose been so abusive to him just bc like. he was still the one who took him in and cared for him in a world where powerless witches are discriminated against, ignored, or actively tormented like he probably would've been homeless and died on the streets so belos IS his father figure so like ontop of the trauma he already has associated with this man he also now has 1. witnessing him die(?) in a visually horrific way and 2. having to step on/in his remains/GOOP(?) immediately after. i would love to see luz with a glock

Yo, if you want a dose of goodness and relief after The Owl House, might I recommend Craig of the Creek. 11 minute episodes, very slice of Life and relatable, sometimes almost too relatable. I personally say it's the spiritual successor to Ed Edd n Eddy, Codename KND, and to a degree Recess and Hey Arnold. Plus there's some insane Lore.

Regarding “s3”, the creators said they were likely going to create things to fill in the gaps of whatever they had to skip in season 3. Which would likely maybe even involve some content/ideas cut from season 2. If it’s done in a comic format, as they said it would probably be (unless the series was “renewed”/animated spin off), would you consider maybe doing reviews or reactions to them? This is all future stuff so we don’t know what’ll happen, but just was curious.

Oh yeah! I was terrified of the amount of power they hold, but I did not think he would actually harm anyone. At least on purpose. Like how he started reshaping the skull, before that he said 'We are gonna have a blast, *everyone*!' He included them, he just wants to play with people, but I doubt he gives a second thought that taking the ground under people's feet away will cause them to fall and die. It's like... he has this child's(as he is) view of everything solely from his point of view where he doesn't understand not surviving this? Probably the concept of death is wonky for him too?

@@DeathKitta didn’t he trap the owlbeast after chasing it for years? After liquefying Belos and calling him slow, he turned around to look at the kids while saying they seemed slow too. He 100% sees what he does as fun and games, but doest seem to acknowledge that his fun is super harmful and also doesn’t seem to care either. I wouldn’t say he wouldn’t harm ppl on purpose, more like he doesn’t think harming ppl is a bad thing. Like how in video games death is usually meaningless. You just get right back up. Collector might see it similarly, but he doesn’t care/worry/think about if they don’t get up again.

Maybe he made it into curse to put away and play later xD(and then lost like a doofus xD) I think with Belos he intentionally gooped him(i wonder if he was aware Belos would survive since he knows his goope state). With kids I am still not sure. Like he gives them time, cause he is aware they are 'slow'. But would he put as much force on them as with Belos? He wants to play with them, not goop them. It's hard to explain this kind of thought process. It's like. How kids treat insects often? Crushing them, ripping them, not seeing them as living 'feeling' creatures? I feel like he has low empathy and that's why he doesn't empathies with others and doesn't consider their point of view or them in general. And he can't have any shared experience with them to learn the differences. I wonder also how he views death. He outlives basically anyone, did he ever notice or he thought they just 'went away' or he never connected to anyone enough to care to remember about them. Does he think about death the way kids do, just not getting that after death people don't come back?

I like that belos is alive. Where so many things about him that need to be answered, if he is gonna die in this episode like this, it would be huge disaster for the show, like my poor boy toffee's death in svtfoe. I like belos as a villain and I wish his backstory wouldn't be rushed and poorly written, king andrias backstory have some issues. I mean i like the idea that the main antagonist is a human from the periud of the witch-hunt tradition and other religious perplexities. Anyone who was born and grown up in that time would become like him. Not to mention that Philip is younger than his brother and he is an orphan, he grew up without parenthood, only under the supervision of his older brother in addition. And we don't know exactly the whole backstory and how he grew up and I can't wait and again i wish his backstory wasn't be rushed and had some issues with writing like andrias. Some people hate him, first of all for dumb reasons. The horrible things that he have done seems logical to me, because again let me remind you from what period is he, and this is what make him greate and unigue as a villain. If I have I reason disliking belos, it's not reason like yours. In season one finale he is doing one of the dumbest villain moves. He is just breaking promise to lilith, telling her that he is gonna petrified her sister and then he gives her a palisman instead of eating it, like he is not expecting that she will betray him. That's just so stupid and I can't come to terms with it. Also I kind of don't like how he was portrayed in time travel episode.
