I've never connected with a fictional character more than I did with Luz in this episode. This show does an amazing job all around of tackling difficult and complex emotions, but I don't think I've ever seen grief and loss handled so accurately.

Ed's bat is the same one from Season 1 Episode 12. He named it Batrick. Dana confirmed in a Tweet that Ed and Em are naturally green-haired like their mother while Amity's hair is brown like her father, and Odalia always made Amity dye her hair green because "she likes her children to color-coordinate."

So there’s a little more meaning to this episode than what most initially thought, myself included. Based on what fans have told me, the episode is reminiscent of Dana’s (the creator) dad dying around the time Dana was 11 years old I believe (forgot how he died tho). It was incredibly sad to hear, and hearing Luz’s voice breaking and seeing Amity’s shocked face hurts even more with that information.

Car accident, like Luz' dad. Which may play into some of the siren noises and flashing lights; they may remind Luz (Dana) of police lights or ambulance sirens or something.

This ep impacted me so much to the point that once my dad came home the same day that this episode aired , I rushed towards him and hug him really tight and I said " I love u Dad" and he was so confused but hugged me back anyways , this just shows how much this show can impact someone's life for how amazing it is . 10/10 ep for me

I used to be in a relationship with someone who lost their father and it always really hard on them every time it came around. They pretended to be indifferent and it clearly wasn’t the case, so I sympathize with amity in trying to do the best they can. Really touching episode lol

One of the BEST episodes! I remember the fandom just freaking out and loving the episode. I cried during the from tree scene, and it handles everything perfectly. It's one of my personal favourites from the season 💜 Another cool detail is that the case in which Camila placed the flower in the human realm is abomination style. Next time, get ready for cute shipping, and shenanigans before...stuff happens!

This episode is one of my favorites. It hurts me every time I watch it, but I love it so much. It shows that Luz and Amity's relationship isn't perfect, but they're both working hard to be there for each other. You can really feel the emotions from the characters so well.
@martinratagris2 жыл бұрын
Great episode, from Luz's and Amity's relationship, the emotional scene under their Grom's tree to the smallest things like the photo of Alador as a champion with Odalia, Alador's rival and Eda and Raine in the back. Also, while Ed's interest in beastkeeping magic and potions let's not forget Amira's healing skills, the twins are really good at wild magic.

I think the best part of Owl House season 2 is that the characters aren't confused about who they wanna be anymore but who they currently are, living each day one by one instead of each episode being a linear journey toward a grander narrative.
@lulystalgianature29682 жыл бұрын
It's amazing how healthy the relationship is, but I'm glad a little bump in the road was shown, since no romance is too perfect. It's bound to have some troubles, but the important thing is to work it out. Gosh it was so realistic and well handled how Luz wanted to avoid the dad subject. Many rather run away from it than wanting to share it with people no matter how close they are to them. A little bonus about this episode, seeing Ed and Em looking like, well, actual teenagers. So many media portrays them as too pretty and perfect. Them using illusion to cover the 'defects' was so in character for them, and I know many would do the same if they could. Also, Ed and King bonding was just perfect 😍

as someone who accidentally came out to my mom (and she didn't take it the way I wanted her to) seeing you react to lumity normally means a lot :D
@lulystalgianature29682 жыл бұрын
The problem is many parents are old school, and don't see LGBTQ+ as something normal. My mom is the same. We used to watch this series together until... well, you know. It took me years, but I realized I'm aroace. My mom didn't mind since she has been in so many bad relationships, she doesn't care about romance anymore. I can make connections, just not romantic ones, and she believes it's better that way.
@reoij2 жыл бұрын
@@lulystalgianature2968 I'm glad you got to figure yourself out ❤ and btw: yeah, most parents won't get it right away. But I personally think it was my mistake cuz I did it out of rage and bc I was in a really emotional state. The worst part is we live in a really homophobic country, so I don't know what comes next for me...But hey! I've been having pretty negative experiences when it comes to relationships, so for now I'll stick to being by myself :)

@@reoij Well, conflicts will always be there. Black people are still getting hate for something as stupid as a different skin color. Some people just can't be helped. Whether is through teaching, environment or simply being too miserable with their own lives, many will hate something just for the sake of it. Being yourself is truly the best anyone can do, since no matter what you do, haters will still exist, so why change yourself if not everybody will be pleased? Just focus on being happy with what you got 👍

My father leave before i born and my grandpa replaced him, and i couldn't say him how much i loved him or that i would miss him. Also some months ago my dog died too, and the hardest thing is that he was a gift from my grandpa. So i perfectly understand Luz's pain
