I may have found the solution to my "items problem" in the Pack Vest by WLF Enduro. Personally I don't like tank bags, and backpacks carry a lot but is not easy to get to. So how should I pack my small things that I need handy?
In this video I show you what I have come to like very much.
Designed for Enduro, but I think Adventure bikers will love it too.
You find WLF Enduro here www.wlfenduro.com/

So back in the day, around 20 years ago, I rode a F650GS in the Danish Army and obviously I always wore my load bearing kit when on the bike, either a belt kit with suspenders or a combat vest. Fast forward to day before yesterday and I was riding up a steep hill track and my tankbag got in the way of leaning forward. On the way home I was contemplating outfitting a vest for off-road riding again and ditching my tankbag. Tankbags are great for everyday, riding around etc but not great when riding off-road like you mentioned. Interesting to see a company having that same idea and making a specific product like that.

You are right about riding in hot weather, even the backpack is a problem, preventing the ventilation inside the jacket. but it is a interesting solution to carry important things. I usually use a bellybag and when it rains, I just hide it inside the jacket. It's not fancy but it's functional.

Great idea. I recently came across the idea of a leg bag. I'm using a MOLLE panel with two pouches attached. It looks a bit weird but it is so convenient. The pockets on my jacket are terrible. The leg bag is great. So is this vest.

Although definitely ultra dorky, it does work very well. Professional photographers have been using vests like this for ages as well, due to easy and quick access + comfort.

Looks like a great piece of kit...especially for your usage Robert. My Kriega rucksack is an extension of me!..I have even worn it trekking in the Central American jungle. Also its another layer of back protection. I keep sharp or heavy items in the Kriega os 6's that live on the bike. But finding the right set up is never ending fun ...Cheers, Steve

I agree with your sentiment about tankbags. The strap system and buckles in this vest do not seem to be as convenient as in Kriega backpacks. I tried to add additional pouch on a shoulder strap of my backpack in the same place where you have your pouch for the phone, but it interfered with the chin of my helmet when I turned my head left, and it was not a convenient place to put things in and take them out. I have moved this pouch to the waist strap and it seems to be a better place, even though the waist strap in the backpack is not meant to attach additional pouches. I did not try it with pouches as big as yours, though. Mine is ok for keys and earplugs, but would not fit a passport or a wallet. My plan is to fix this by buying a jacket with better, bigger pockets than my current one :)

Lots of space, Robert, with your "granny bra". Could end up being a heavy load, if you use all the bags full to the brim with parts, tools... Looking forward to see it perform during a weekend tour. Can't argue with the utility of the vest, but over here in the Ooosa (USA) wearing that vest would in virtually any environment would risk being confused as either an active shooter type or a Jan Six wanna-be. Neither would be advantageous to a guy who's just trying to get from A to B on an adventure bike. Solution? Tell WLF to make the vest in some kind of Safety Yellow color so we'd all look like harmless, non-threatening, crossing guards! I frequently cross the US/Canadian border and I can tell you, nothing piques the curiosity of CBP quite like a black, "tactical" looking piece of luggage.
