This is one of those jobs that I always knew would be a nightmare. But at least I now know it's possible. We fit a pair of Recaro SPG bucket seats to my Murcielago over the course of about a week.

I don't know how you have the confidence to basically weld your seat into position Phil! When i move my seat it takes me forever to get it back just how i like it with little adjustments. I can't get in a car, adjust the seat first time before i set off and be happy with it!

I'm currently building a track car wherein everything is changed...engine...transmission...drivetrain...wiring....all of it. This video is the best demonstration I have seen of why everything takes so damn long. Everything interferes with everything, nothing bolts on, and seemingly well established plans have to constantly be re-calculated/re-done. People who haven't done it never can begin to understand. Actually your entire channel is a good demonstration of this. Also, I don't have a "Jay" sadly. It's all just me.

Fully understand that! I custom built a off road mini buggy has 180 hayabusa engine, goes 100mph and has 16 inches of suspension that is under 1900lbs. I could have built two with the time it took just changing and rechanging my ideas and plans

Is there a reason you welded to chassis as opposed to welding an extension bracket to the seat mount to use the inner rear factory bolt location ? Great build btw 🤙🍺

The seat literally touches the frame of the car behind the mount we made. There's no room to extend backwards towards the seatbelt mount.

Phil why dont you run an adapted Kirkey seat and have it retrimmed and moulded to you? you will sit lower and more upright even with better clearance for helmet

It wouldn't be any better. This is as low as a seat can be in a Murcielago. You'd only gain 15mm if I was sitting on the actual floor.

Possibly lowered the floor in that section. Or maybe it was just a tight squeeze.

You dont need rollcage. Murcielago's will go rear end first into tree and then if impact is hard enough, the body will split into two behind the seat and that will eat a lot of impact loads off. You will be safe but in a car which is missing it's rear half.

Creaform bead seat kit Make a mold fitted directly to the floor. It's like a two part urethane and poly foam bead foam. You find a seat your ass fits in comfortably and make a reverse pattern paper maché mold. Or fiberglass lol. Then shape the sides of the mold how you want the sides of the base to look. Put down something like peel ply on the floor and pour the foam directly on the floor. Place your mold in the position and angle you want. Probably much thicker in the back and maybe 2 inches higher than the floor in the front edge of the seat. Remember to move it forward enough so the seat back will line up with the back of the base. For the seat back, you are going to cut the base off of the racing seat you like. Make mounting brackets for the seat back. Both pieces get upholstered in the leather of your choice and voila! Now it's not just Aston Martin Valkyrie owners with bespoke seats fitted for them. It's all Valkyrie owners.... And Phil.
