Watching Emily's videos really make you think about your own life and how your living it. This girl had so much strength. She never let it get her down. When I personally watch her video it really puts things into perspective for me that I am healthy and I need to be more grateful for that. Sometimes being healthy all of our lives we tend to categorize that as normal and yes it can be but we tend to take advantage of that. Emily was such a beautiful beautiful soul so us who loved and cared for her need to live up our lives for her as well as ourselves because she only had a short time to do that. Bless her. I hope she's kickin ass up there in heaven and loving every minute of it

I'm grateful for the feeding tube in my jejunum, which was placed after I lost my stomach. Living with chronic Illness is awful. My father had a tumor in the bone of his foot, which was maybe his primary or else it was from the lungs. He was in pain from day 1, right in the foot and it was just excruciating :/ Also, Emily, you're the age of my little sister, and the same personality type, so it bums me out, but your way of having dealt with the cancer has been a delight to see. It's not easy, and why does it have to be a part of living -- but it happens to some people and it's unfortunate, but you've definitely done the best you could in this run so far and just try to keep going every day. Life is strange. You're an inspiration, peace :)

Swimming is really good as a non weight bearing exercise, cardio and great for your muscle tone. Try some yoga too, very good mentally and helps with pain management. You are so strong and have a great attitude..... if we could bottle it the NHS would be saved. So lovely to see that you are feeling better. Peace to you both as well.

Somehow I missed this one, even going back and binge watching all Emily's old videos after she passed. I can identify with the thought of the pain saving her life, although in the end she did die. I'm a borderline Stage 4 breast cancer survivor (Feb. 19, 2019 will mark nine years cancer free), and pain was my FIRST symptom. It was like a shooting, searing pain across my breast. At first, I thought the underwire on my bra had broken and was poking into the skin. Sure enough, it was ... but even after tossing the bra, the pain continued and worsened. Finally after three weeks, I saw my gynecologist who promptly sent me to a surgeon. Breast cancer doesn't run in my family, so that was the last thing on my mind. At diagnosis, my tumor was the size of a baseball. By the time I started chemo a couple weeks later, it was softball size and in my lymph nodes. It hurt because the tumor was so large it wrapped around nerves. Normally breast cancer doesn't hurt -- but it CAN -- so if you have unexplained pain in that area that worsens over time, GET IT CHECKED.

@Norma As far as cancer goes, I saw my oncologist a few weeks ago for my annual checkup, and he says he thinks I'm cured! With the type of cancer I had, the chances of it returning are the highest in the first two years. It will be 12 years in February, so I'm doing great!

Liking this for YOU. I do believe that PAIN alerted my daughter to her breast cancer! Her son threw a basketball to her and she didn't catch it well and it hit her chest. Felt pain there and it didn't go away. Went to have it checked out and found out that she had stage 2 breast cancer! She would have never known otherwise. She had chemo, double mastectomy and now just done with radiation. Doesn't see a doctor for three months now. Just like YOU.....lets all think positive that all is good. Is there an option of having the liver mass excised ?You need to be in control of pain so it is good to hear that the meds are working on that front. As you say, pain is an indicator of the cancer in the hip and spine, but you need now to get it to a level where you are not always thinking of the cancer due to constant severe pain so that some normal life can resume. No gym but going out, seeing friends. You and the make up brush Queen make a great team. Hugs.

im in Canada and we sure do get that cheese here, when i was a kid we used to take the red wax and stick them to our nose lol. so gurl i feel you when it comes to pain. i dont have cancer, i cant imagine fighting cancer,, but i have lupus and i was diagnosed 9 years ago feb. for about 9 years i can tell you i havent had one day where i wasnt in excruciating pain. i describe it like you have a bruise, but not just any bruise, but one that is so blue and painful and someone presses hard on it.. you get that pain followed by that sickening feeling, thats the kind of pain i feel in every single connection (joint) in my entire body every day, 24/7 for the last 9 years every time i move. and since i refuse pain meds because of my anxiety with harsh meds, its challenging. so when you said the pain was getting you down i completely relate. you cant work out, you hate moving too much but you want to go do things and be normal. its a hard deal to keep your motivation going. i honestly have had your moments, where i think, this disease is killing me slowly and if i dont keep positive, fight it and keep going ill just die. but then i watch your videos and see that through pain and everything else you try so hard to be positive and grab strength when you can and take your meds and say fuck it, its all i have i might as well fight as hard as i can, and i feel like ya man.. *air fist punch.. like fuck ya! so ya, ur allowed down days, but girl, im happy i found ur vids, they always make me feel better or want to be better. love you girl, sending you hugs from Montreal, Quebec Canada. xx ps. swimming and yoga are great low impact non load bearing work outs that have helped me cope on days i am in bed or need a cane for walking.
