Very cool, i repurposed various makeup storage/display devices as well. I use a carousel three tier for tall spray cans or bottles of thinner, a couple of cheap plastic tool caddies from walmart each comes with full width segimented drawer. The bottles of paint im not using are all on the wall in clear acrylic shelfs designed for nail polish bottle i have two different widths the larger ones hold tamiya 23ml bottles the smaller ones hold the 10ml, my work brench is very similar to yours with 10" inch deep shelf 42" inchs wide, underneath are various colored acrylic boxes with drawers in them, these hold tools, tapes, papers, decal sheets, putties, tube glues, etc. Its nice to see somone repurposing cheap items. Mine come from amazon, the dollar store and another called the container store.

There is another type of holder they sell on amazon, which has membranes you can stick your brushes through. They are also great to hold them upside down.

Happy New Year Dr. Faust and Viewers! ♥️ A year or two ago I was so sick I couldn’t even stand and my only goal for each day was just to survive to until I could fall asleep again. I couldn’t even watch TV. The ONLY THING I could tolerate was to watch your videos, which I kept watching in loops over and over until I finally got better. Tyvm for your wonderful videos! Ty for your positivity, your wonderful miniature painting, your clear and direct narration, and your kind voice! Have a great 2022!

I bought one of those nail varnish stands a week ago to store all my paints and it's great. Dropper bottles (Vallejo, MSP, Army painter) sit in there with wiggle room, and the GW pots also fit with a little around the sides. It also happily fits the 50ml pots of Vallejo primer etc, so i got everything in there nice and neat. Really cannot recommend them enough. Next on the list is something like your makeup storage for all the tools etc... Love that brush holder idea as well, i'll definitely have to look for something similar!

Blue tack on the edge of a shelf or on a wall can easily hold a brush tip down while it dries. Then you can store it tip up after it dries.

Timing. I'm waiting for Amazon to deliver some CQ acrylic bottle racks already. Those drawers are very interesting. I'll have to get the tape measure out to see if they'll fit in slots in the Ikea Kallax/Expedit shelves that make up one side of my painting desk.

Awesome video. The best part is that nothing here is branded or custom made ($$$) - it’s a triumph of function over form.

Not bad - very elegant I must say. I use a custom made paint rack made of 5mm foamcore with about 250 individual slots for my Vallejo paint bottles (and it's full - I might need to increase the size of it), but the slots are cut out quite shoddily I'm afraid and it's not that hot to look at. I have seen people mention makeup storage before, and maybe should look into that? Seems like a solution actually.
@asaffin12 жыл бұрын
When you think about it, you're just putting makeup on your figures, so makeup storage makes perfect sense.

The question about this new brushholder with the "teeth" would be, does it hold the brushes upside down for prolonged time or do you need to worry about them falling out after an hour or four?
@marklinton45672 жыл бұрын
I had the problem of bottles falling over too. Big ogre hands I guess. I took some 1/2" foam from something I ordered on amazon, cut strips the size of each ledge and then cut a bunch of 26mm holes in each strip. Now the bottles never fall over.

Great setup , where do you hold other things like glue, static grass etc... Also do you use this table for assemble models and where do you have bases, sprues and things like that and how do you fight with dust? Do you use paint shakers - like vortex ?

Basing. Better for gluing gravel because it's less runny and can be scrapped off if needed.

Tip up being bad for brushes is a myth from people who don't understand capillary action. No brush should be stored with enough water in it to make gravity effect the water. It should be just damp, at which point the water will flow everywhere anyways
