It saddens me to see other groups appreciated for our dance style and music... there are sooo many amazing dancers from where I'm from that didn't get any of this recognition... except when it came time for someone else to show up at an event or party, film everything, and then bounce back to their neighborhood. Ughhh. Almost the entirety of their performance is from American black culture with the rest being mined from the gay, ballroom scene and I don't see any of these folks interested IN THOSE COMMUNITIES beyond their fascination. I wish people cared more. This fucking world man, you love everything about us EXCEPT us. "Black Hole Sun, won't you come? Won't you come?"

in one of paris(choreographer) interviews she explains what hip hop is and she's uses also ballroom style she understands the fact that she uses that and she does give all of the recognition to where these styles come from and is thankful for theses styles to be alive and still popular. hip hop and ballroom are all global now and get recognition you should be proud. she also defends hip hop, lots of interviewers just think it's twerking and grinding but she explains that it's more than that it's the culture the people where it comes from and who invented it. also ballroom she explains it was the only way queer people could express themselves and an interviewer said it was people trying to be someone they weren't but she explained it was someone being exactly who they are effortlessly and giving zero f**ks.
