I play guitar myself since the 60s actually 😉and believe you me I've idolised many guitarists, first was definitely Hank cause I loved that echo sound. The big sound a lah Duane Eddy etc, but coincidentally the Album that did it for me was Live at Leeds which had a monstrous sound. Then I Heard the band on John Peel and Geordies sound caught my ear straight away , since then he's taken it to a unique level. There is so much thought to his playing. The guy is a composer of classical music in my ears 👍🎸🎶🎶

As Songs from the Warp go, Pandys is a screeching blinder.
@princeofcupspoc90736 жыл бұрын
Pandys could be punishment by striking the back of the hand with a ruler, according to the OED. The whole Album is themed around Liber Legis Chapter III, with the famous line "Why? Because of the fall of because that he is not there again." So maybe a good reading of Chapter III would help solve the meaning.

Here's Jaz's commentary on the song: "The title The Pandy's Are Coming was derived from a song the army of the British Empire sang in India when the 'Pandit' tribe of Hindus invoked 'Kali' before hurtling towards the British to embrace destruction. It represented a totalitarian state of mind representing my own and I also saw no reason why I should not exploit the family name of my Brahmin heritage. The emphasis again was on myself."
