Last year when it finished 0-0 there was a lot of selfish play in front of goal. Gapko and others shooting from silly positions instead of squaring for tap ins. That is one thing Slot has totally cut out, the selfishness. Now they are playing as a proper unit up front. On that basis the goals should come on Sunday.

As a neutral I think any manager who employs the same formation in every single match is already disadvantaged before a ball is kicked. Unless you have the best in the world at your disposal (which Amorim doesn't) you help the opposing manager because he knows exactly how you are going to set up. Varying tactics and formations to gain an advantage is an important part of the game. I don't see Amorim surviving at Man Utd long term if he persists with only one formation. He doesn't have the players to make it work.

There is nothing at stake here. Losing points to Man Utd won't affect Liverpool's title charge. There really shouldn't be more pressure than just to win over Man Utd. Unlike the FA Cup semi last season or if Man Utd and Liverpool are close on points. I think the bigger pressure will be between Arsenal, Forest and Chelsea overtaking each other every week. Closing the gap with Liverpool is an incentive, but pressure of losing points is what derails teams.

There is no ‘logical’ path for United to beat or even draw with Liverpool. However, as the FA Cup game last year proved, football can be very illogical from time to time. United’s path to victory (or a draw) is that Liverpool MISS EVERYTHING, and United score a wonder goal or capitalise on a mad error. Which happened before.
