The appeal of this tank is not it's gameplay, but the fact that this Panzer IV 725 is actually a real-life tank that existed and fought in WW2. It's a tank that collectors will enjoy.

I think what makes this tank somewhat special is the historical aspect. The PzKpfw IV F2 was the first version of the PzKpfw IV being equipped with the long-barreled 7.5 cm gun. That had become necessary in order to deal with heavily armoured vehicles like KV-1, KV-2 and T-34 on the eastern front that proved to be almost invulnerable to most anti-tank guns the Wehrmacht had at its disposal by that time, forcing German tank crews to engage them in costly close-quarter-attacks. The F2 fixed that problem by mounting the aforementioned long-barreled gun, switching the PzKpfw IV's role completely from an infantry support vehicle to a tank that's supposed to deal with other tanks (earlier on, that was supposed to be the PzKpfw III's role). So, yeah, that's pretty much the point of the F2 because all earlier versions (up to F1) featured only a short-barreled low-velocity 7.5 cm gun. That also explains the F2's lack of armour as only later variants like the G-variant (I think that's the tech-tree one) received more armour. Thanks if you read this wall of text lol

the only truly outstanding thing about the tank is that it has 360 viewrange at tier 5, and since it's a reward you can get a skilled crew in it and max out your viewrange, which at tier 5 will give you a massive advantage

Hey @ awesomeepicguys you missed something: This tank might have a little bit more hp, but it has less armour on the front and it has much less ammo storage than the regular Pz IV H, putting you in danger of running out of ammo, if you are having a long and fruitful battle. Kinda reminds about the Ukrainian prototypus.

I usually only roll with the Pz. V/IV for T5 because with a good crew, preferential matchmaking, and a full complement of gold rounds, you can be the ultimate troll. I'm actually really pleased with the F2 though. While it's not anywhere near as OP as the V/IV, I still have a lot of fun in it.

This Panzer IV is the worst of the four different variants. Tech tree can have the derp, more armour and HE protection, Ankou is basically the tech tree without derp, but it's funny, Hydro is faster, has pref mm but this one is the slowest, slower than Hydro, has almost the same armour but slightly worse without the HE skirt on the turret and also, it has much lower ammo capacity. Truly a shame it doesn't have pref because besides the style it is quite worthless and forgettable especially in comparison to something like the VK or T50 from previous years.

What CCs might really be missing is that these tanks aren't exactly targeted like the VII or VI were. I have an account from 2012 but I don't play WoT often, it's too grindy and a pain in the ass to play for any long duration, but fun in very measured exposures. Having these tier 3s to 5s that I can learn to play the game with each time I come back is a major improvement over taking the M24E2 or Super Hellcat and dying on the spot. I'm happy with the IV F2 and with the IV Hydrostat. I'm saving for the Tiger 131 with bonds and I'm hopeful to get it within the next year for free.

German 105mm AP can pen them most of the time frontally and all the time at the sides. Saddly games are not full of them. Maybe Saturday morning? The hull has30mm less front armor. Also the turret turns slower. Which means you are on target later.
