I have tested everything mentioned over the last 20 years. It’s true. Just be and trust life. The more you obsess over ANYTHING will give you suffering and the opposite result. It’s because all is one. When you obsess, want, complain, or resist you cause a separation in life and this requires a lesson to make life whole again. Just flow, be present and allow life to do its thing and one day you will wake up and realize life is perfectly the way you wanted.

Recently I realized that I was thinking of by spiritual elevation like a place in the future to get to. Something to achieve and aim to. And kept my mind occupied on things I was doing or not doing to get there. Suddenly the idea that everything that I do can be consider an exercise in spirituality. I don't need to change my life to get to be more spiritual, I need to bring spirituality to every second of my existence. This is my spiritual journey, which is unique and unrepeatable. Appreciating every second of my life feels like loving yourself.

I can relate . My passion is tennis . In the last 11 months , my game (techniques and skills ) has improved significantly, astronomically more than the last 30 years of playing ! I was more conscious of each step in what I was doing , not in any hurry, and not concerned about the outcome. A new method of striking the ball was discovered ….. then another. One after the other they came. I was improving in areas I had not thought possible. My tennis buddies were astonished and impressed by the improvements and the quality of my shot making abilities. And I was enjoying myself completely.

Yes, because the outcome is the "future", but ultimately what we deeply all want is to be in a state of enjoyment of that outcome and that enjoyment can only ever be in the present moment. Attaching to the outcome can hinder you because you're not living life, you're waiting for your prize in the future and that's a cycle that goes on and on because as with all attachment, it's never enough even when you get or achieve what you wanted. The point is as ever to align yourself with the now, the outcome is simply gardening and practical planning of your steps to come, and again, as always, who knows what the future holds. A vitally important lesson in my opinion.

I was holding back for many years because of suppressed emotion and habits that kept me shut down. I failed in my first attempt at a music career because it was all about wanting to get validation for who my parents never saw me as. I pushed myself to meditate harder and try and be more present for many years and suffered through a lot of it. When I started unraveling my past presence became much more natural.
@vicx057 ай бұрын
Can you explain how meditating 'harder' and trying to be more present didn't work for you? I ask because I'm in the same boat, almost a year of daily meditation and it feels like I've plateaued or even gone backwards.
@midlife.mystic7 ай бұрын
@@vicx05 I think for folks with a lot of anxiety (which includes me) meditation can just send us into mental spirals that we can’t escape and ends up being counter productive. I spent years suffering through meditation including long retreats not realizing that not everyone suffered through it like I did. I’ve spent the last couple of years focused on more somatic based practices which bring me into my body and other personal work and I finally find myself able to sit in meditation and actually let go of my mind. I could never do this before. I think Eckhart’s work somewhat overlooks this. A lot of us have deeper traumas than presence practices will allow us to heal. Curious if this relates at all to your experience.

Manifestion works by envisioning your outcome as if it were real now, because as Eckhart says our power is only in the present. He's only warning us not to become too attached to a future outcome, but as reality only exists now you simply have to focus on feeling your desire as if it were already here. Letting go of the when and how is also key as that also adds resistance.

Picturing the outcome is a state of wanting or lack of, some people fool themselves here. By focusing on joy and bliss you may not get the exact “target”, but you will get experiences that mirror it.
