I felt driven to hustle and succeed as an escape and a very necessary escape from a toxic abusive environment. A toxic and abusive family and violent place. I then Had medical issues for years (unfortunately having to deal with the toxic abusive neglectful "family" and environment) and you know... sickess isolates you. You fade into the background of ppl's lives its too inconvenient and ppl do not relate or don't want to really take at face value when you tell them your situation downplaying it to exaggeration. I lived like those for 8 years. FAst forward to now, I am burned out, I know perfectly well I need good people around me. But with this situation it is even worse. Capitalism does not care about pandemics and systems in place made to neglect yourself force you to. I do want meaning full connections above chasing carrots and shinny things. But how the hell to do this?? its like... being on. a vacuum black hole.

For once, my KZbin algorithm show me something unexpectedly interesting. If the direction you have stated at the end of the video, is the generic direction you are taking this channel. I have an "idea" . 1. The exploration of different types of people (this can be a very varied topic and can be taken in many many directions) and their relationship with having a happy life. Focusing on Social interaction, the first direction i would like to see a compilation on is if there are people who have high social needs vs low social needs and their relationship with having a happy life. This will take a lot of research and it might research that doesn't even exist or you might have to amalgamate a lot of research to draw an inference as a conclusion

Its a more polite way of asking what your income (and therefore social status) is. I've learned over the years people exaggerate, omit and lie to make themselves seem like they have more money than they actually do. Just believe what you see and not what people tell you.

It's both sad in the bottom and top for me. My family wants me to be on the top because if I can't then I am just a disappointment to them considering how they are both bread winners of their families, they've got their own success stories so they expect me to be also successful. I was doubtful at first but I didn't think that they would humiliate me in front of their associates for wanting to be just an average joe.

To think about it, I really need to detoxify myself from this mentality; that we need to work hard, to the extent that we have to sacrifice our leisure and family time, to become a successful person. Hello. In my situation was very different growing up. I was born in Puerto Rico, raised in Brooklyn, New York. It was an awful up bringing. I was bullied all my life, and never made friends with anyone. I decided to recreate my life. Completed my educational goals. Graduated from High School. Graduated College. Wrote a few books. Learned how to compose music. Now I compose music for movies, and television. I had a lot of time to get my life together, and when no one wants to be friends it's up to you to create success in your own life. I never thought that being mistreated by society could benefit my life as it has.

Each person is different I guess. I had a HUGE community of people around me before. I spent entire 3 to 4 days per week being around that community and volunteering. Not really focusing on making money or anything at all. From recently to now, I've realized that all those connections are empty. They lead to no where in life. They don't produce any results that benefit other people...other than their own self to live a "happy life." Now, I've realized that I have to work harder to earn more money. I hate money and buying things. These things don't satisfy. But the reality is, helping other people need a lot of resources. One being money. Especially the non-profit organizations that focus on the 'output' and not trying to sell people their "good deeds". EDIT: important note, whoever says "money is the root of all evil" either doesn't/can't read or just parroting what others said out of utter misrepresentation. The actual verse is *For the love of money is the root of all evil.* Funny how a few words changes the whole meaning of a phrase huh?

This. All of this is great when you're still young, I guess. As you get older though and you realize how broke you still are, there's only so much fun you can have when you don't have any money. Here's the thing though. You're right when you say that money doesn't satisfy. It's not supposed to. What money gives you is opportunities, choices, and the ability to bless and invest in other people. Like it or not, the world is run by money and how well you live in it often depends on what you can afford. Is hustling stressful? Yes. You know what else is stressful? Not being able to pay your bills or handle emergencies. The key is to strike a balance. Work hard, but make sure that you make time for friends and family.

I can understand that many people hate money At the same time, I believe that money is a great tool if used correctly. They say that "money is the root of all evil", but in reality it is the person in possession of the money that decides wether money is evil or not. Money can be spent to finance terrorist attacks, but money can also be spent to save people from dying from hunger. Money is neutral. Money doesn't change people, it only reveals who they truly are.

Now, I am more free to manage my time despite having a fixed 6am - 3pm job. I am no longer on this hustle pace. I wanted to find a part time job, but a body that fails me is telling me not to. I think you’re using a very broad brush when you say things like no one agrees to work more. I quit a job that felt meaningless and went to make more money, work at a slower pace, and work on something more meaningful a couple times. Also, who’s saying let’s not discuss it? Aren’t we doing that now?

What’s toxic, is not seeing that everyone has different goals and some people just don’t care about their “social needs” more than other things. My plan was to hustle when I was younger so I would have a good work ethic and be good at what I do when I start to have kids. It worked out very well, because now I’ve slowed my pace and get to spend time with family and friends while being excellent at what I do.

2:43..Damn that hit me hard too. It's really been like that for me. I've been 'hustling' a lot. Lack of sleep, sleepless nights, 'sacrificing' my family time, stuff like that. Truthfully I don't feel as happy, this road feels very hard and lonely. But, at the same time, I don't know. I'm in the process of not letting my 'hustle' get in the way.

Even if you don’t have any personal relationships (which I doubt) it’s important to create bonds with others, even strangers. If you struggle with considering relationships as an important/productive part of life may I perhaps suggest therapy? It really helps to have someone aid you in building healthier habits. Or if not, try to incorporate being social within the “hustle” mindset. So find a study group, some workout buddies, etc to branch out with people while also doing things you value.

why you see the social life and that hustle Culture as binary things may be we can balance both the things, thats the best we on ly need to change our perspective abut hustle culture it dosent mean you have to dicunnect all your social life its just that more of the time of starting of your carier you have to give time to yourselves to self devlop rather than parting in every other ocations, in one line "Set properties" all other things are bullshit. Beautiful video man, really touches on the core of what humans are, and what they need. Currently I am in college and last semester was the most stressful and damaging on me, both physically and mentally, because I pushed myself to study more at the cost of distancing myself from family. Now I realize that this is not a viable and sustainable plan for the future and would much rather, and am much happier being around family more at the cost of grades which ultimately don't mean shit in the long run.

I like how society is always trying to shape human beeings into the perfect form with no edges nor flaws like yo what if people actually want ton hustle? What if different people actually go trough different life experiences ? Who has acutal control over everything in life? People are spreading the idea that your decisions are only drived by yourself, ignoring the rest, putting an other huge load on the shoulders of those who are already struggling. Now a day people don't get to be shy, skinny, fat, or even hustle, without exposing themselves to remarks from people who doesn't have a clue who they are talking to. How to not fall into anxiety & depression when the world around is trying to crush down what makes yourself who you are ? How many people end up taking their own life in this madness? No matter what you do there is always something you are doing wrong. So why bother ? I tell you what, I think now a day people are actlally trying to fill the void society created in themself by trying to make their way of life the life of other folks, so they can validate the idea that it's """""""the prefectly balanced life"""""""""""". And thus the idea of someone living on a dirrerent path is unconceivable. Good job lying to yourself, right now there are probably hustler enjoying their best life to the fullest. I've seen guatemala kids in person having a bast chasing chicken around, and the amount of joy in the eyes of those people taught me that hapiness realy is a point of view...

lot of these billionaire hustlers, are fake I don't have social life outside work, I trade, I invest, I improve myself. If its gonna be lonely at the top, it's lonely at the bottom too. It is never my choice to exclude me out of social circles. I am very open and I answer all questions asked, it's they who don't want to. They find someone cooler, and they always have friends they prioritize over you. Wake up, you don't need them. They are never there for you, they don't care about you.

You can't really control family and friends though.. So, there's no guarantee that you will find success at work, but also with family and friends for everyone is still their own person and human nature is human nature... So, having a healthy selfishness is important or else you may feel resentful after 20 years of being service to others, with no guarantees.. Seen it happen a few times.. Balance is KEY

Gary Vee does not want this message to be heard... his whole career is based on hustle culture lol... Haven't "made it" yet... work harder Haven't "Found success"... What are you doing between 7pm and 2 am after your 8 or more hour shift Toxic hustle culture. BTW this is mainly a Western Culture and one of the downsides of capitalism. I spent some time in Thailand and although the world wants you to believe they are miserable because they live in scarcity, let me tell you I saw more happiness in those people than I have ever seen in the western world where we live in ABUNDANCE. They were grateful to be alive and have a family with them. Generally speaking if Culture tells you to do it, do the opposite and you'll be much happier

Don't underestimate the damage stress does to your health. I always put everything before my health, I had the best grades, I was an honor student, and now I am paying the consequences. I don't know if I have to take medication for life, or go directly to surgery. Always take care of your health and your connections with people, it is important to be financially well, but (at least for me) as long as money is not a source of stress, it is enough.

Just have diversified smart investments. Make a goal of having a stable full time job that you don't particularly dread and just keep stacking the dollars away. Make your money make itself and you'll never have to "hustle" unless it's something that really works for you and your life. Yes hard work is a major factor, but hard work can be exhausting for some people and sometimes it can be taxing on more aspects of life than you'd expect including family life. Everything has a sacrifice, somewhere. It's what you do with the leftover pieces that you keep building with to make up for it. Good luck out there

Ok so if i'm a loser and my friends are losers but i'm the only one trying really hard to not be a loser...how do I factor socializing into this equation? Because to me it seems like it's objectively a net negative to spend time with people that do nothing for me. Which I know is toxic to say but it's true right? And you could say, "oh just find new friends" Ok yeah true, but I'm a loser so how would I make new friends who aren't losers? This is why I just keep to myself man, it's all too hard. And I don't know how to get out.

All my friends that I used to hang out with have moved on to other cities and countries to college, while I was and still am stuck in my home town due to me being from an extremely impoverished household. The friends that I do have here are, quite frankly, losers. They browse 4Chan all day, they do nothing, complain, moan, whine about things but refuse to change anything and browse incel forums (even though they're average and maybe even above average in looks). Which is why, the way I see it, I have nothing to lose from hustling all the time. There is nothing for me to enjoy in my downtime. Friends aren't here. I've seen everything there is to see in my home town. There is nothing I'm missing out on... so either way, I win.
