Hi! Chilean fan here to talk about the CCC performance we had in march of 2023. Up to that point. the band had been to Chile 3 times, the last one being in 2013 (my first show and when i fell in love with the band) so we had to wait 10 years to see them live again. It was a LONG wait and chilean (and latin) audiences are known for being chaotic AF (that's the reason why many bands acknowledge us as some of the best audiences in the world). So, they started with You First and since the first beat was played it was madness down in the general admission and VIP part of the crowd . The band had to stop playing in Rose Colored Boy like 2 times because of how many people fainted, Hayley actually forgot to do the I wanna dance with somebody mashup. Everywhere you looked there was someone being carried out, it was very intense. but thankfully no one got seriously harmed, as far as I know. Hayley looked very frustrated and kept reminding us to take care of each other since we were a family that night and we would never see each other again (she gave an awesome speech about that before TOE). The first half of the show was chaotic, but I think that the CCC performance was a really really smart and effective choice, it gave us time and space to catch a breath and then go back to enjoying ourselves. Afterwards we calmed down a bit and everything went smoothly, we even had an acapella rendition of Last Hope (which was not on the setlist for that part of the tour) and Still Into You (that was going to get cut because of all the time the band stopped playing to take care of us), but then the fans displayed a banner saying "Chile is still into you" and they gave it to us. It was an AMAZING concert, but from what I've seen in local fan groups, we got left with the feeling that we "disappointed" the band by being so recklesss, but I believe that maybe if the security crew and legislations here were better prepared and if the ticket sale system was different, some of the chaos would have been avoided. The band was recently announced in a few festivals here in LA for next year but still there´s no notice of a concert here, so I guess we'll see. I'm sorry for the rambling but I love so much that you included us in the video!!!
@NineAnutza9 ай бұрын
I don't think they were disappointed, yes frustrated but it wasn't the audience fault, they were taking care of each other through the chaos as far as I saw from another location and they gave everything and posted gifts they got and zac posted about the scooby surprise, chaos happened too in brasil not just here, it happens when they come in summer like in 2011 was chaotic too and even more than this year. Also the reason why they aren't coming here or arg is because the festivals producers chose another act instead of paramore and since they only have festivals booked then and the only one available at that date is Lollapalooza that's why they aren't coming...punto ticket did messed up by over selling tickets in the pit so that also cause the issue apart of the heat and movistar not having proper air conditioning...she got very emotional at the end because she saw the support they still have here and she said it multiple times and they were concerned throughout the whole show but disappointed? No, I don't think so for one second...stuff that is out of their control...
@karina001439 ай бұрын
@NineAnutza you're probably right, It's a shame tho, thanks for your input! It's really nice to see another perspective on this!
@DeadPlayin9 ай бұрын
I appreciate you detailing the story and giving me a new perspective of it. From what I've seen, those shows were packed, but the band handled it as best as they could tbh. I hope they do go back so the fans can have the opportunity to see them again! And no need to apologize! It's always a pleasure to have everyone involved :)

6:30 Figure 8 is NOT about Chad. It is about the music industry they have been thrown into not really understanding at the time what they had signed for. Hayley has talked about it in a couple of interviews. It also has many references to their situation with Atlantic and their contract 26:00 Elke used to be a model but yeah as you said now she is a musician. She is in a relationship with Zac and she even opened for Paramore at South American leg of This Is Why Tour as well as for some shows during their Fall Tour. And yes she did appear in their This Is Why music video - Zachary (their photographer) is behind the camera and she is the one who stands next to him 27:27 Colour Me In is a cover of Broadcast's song from their 2003's album 'Haha Sound'. It is not Hayley's original song. 46:13 The title of Stop This Song may be a reference to Avril but the song in itself isn't about her as it is yet another song about Hayley's view on love. 51:15 Barely Legal is most likely about her & Chad's relationship. Hayley was 'barely legal' when it all started. She was still 18 when they met and then started dating. 54:00 Their relationship actually ended for good in early 2017.
@Psycho_bat9 ай бұрын
Oh which interviews does she talk about song meanings? I only saw the zane lowe one and would love to hear more about this
@DeadPlayin9 ай бұрын
I kinda figured that about Chad since I said it was a bit of a stretch in the video. I appreciate all the other clarifications though! It helps a lot to have people fix what I slipped up on 🙏
@victoriavvc8 ай бұрын
I know she hasn't said it, but personally I believe figure 8 is also about us fans and the media kind of invading her life and forcing her to be a role model. I feel like its plausible because of Idol Worship also being a song about how she worries about how people see her and that she dislikes being put on that pedestal
@Chibiknux8 ай бұрын
19:52 I was there and it was hilarious. We are wild at concert and the venue was oversold. Hayley stopped the show several times because of fan fainting or the frontrow being squashed against the fence, she asked us to make space and take one step back from time to time with no effect so she asked us to stay completely still for CCC, it was harddd but it was a necessary evil to give us all breathing room.

In Brazil, we also had a C'est Comme Ça "moment". I was in the Rio de Janeiro concert, and Hayley asked us not to keep our hands to the sides, but to hold our hands up while standing still during the whole song P.S.: Loved this video and Part 1 too

37:07 While a good number of the demos listed can be heard online, notably in Slivia Fumagalli's compilation video of the B-sides, it's still fascinating how there's that much more just for AWKIF that, to my knowledge, can't be found/ remain unreleased. 1:06:30 I believe I stumbled across a video of Hayley herself stating she wanted to/ thought she would be a drummer when asked about wanting to be in a band. I'll have to link/update when I remember and find what clip/interview it was.
@DeadPlayin9 ай бұрын
Yeah, I wish they would just release a version of the album with those songs on it. Now that they're splitting ways with Atlantic, who knows if AWKIF will even get a 20th Anniversary release.

I just rewatched the video and info about Randall who was there before hayley met the guys. Hayley and Taylor told the story of that in parahoy 2016 before playing oh star I think, explaining how their dynamic was in their early days and that he was the lead vocals and had written parts of conspiracy before hayley wrote that poem like you said and then she and Taylor finished the song together and hayley said sorry Randall after telling the crowd that josh kicked him out after hayley joined them and started playing with them officially and how she would see him constantly around town when she lived in her old place with c... and that they're cool... that's it :)

1:03:48 that’s the first time Ive heard about this but tbh I’m not surprised as Josh in recent years has made it clear he’s just openly homophobic. As for Zac as I feel he probably did at some point have some of those beliefs I feel he’s changed and grown as a person and is a lot more accepting now

Just a random thing if you ever decide to make another iceberg video, i think it would be really interesting to talk a little but about the band's relationship with the band mewithoutYou and how they take influence from them. not just with aaron singing on no friend but there are multiple instances where you can hear their influence musically, like the beginning of let the flames begin and the song nice and blue part 2, also the moment of silence in the long album closers future and the cure for pain (for mewithoutYou this could just be a weird way of having a hidden track idk), and how the band would have sequels and different parts for their songs across albums inspiring Part 2 for let the flames begin. I could be wrong but i believe in Hayleys house tour (not mtv cribs) and has mewithoutYou lyrics painted on her stairs, she also says they are her favorite band (though that couldve changed) and taylor is a big fan too. The band being a somewhat christian band can also be seen as an influence on early paramore and the "Oh father" live version of LTFB. I'm not even religious but I seriously recommend them, absolutley amazing lyrics.
